Hello readers! Although the Wizarding World spans far and wide throughout the world, we want to acknowledge holidays from specific countries every now and then. In this chapter, I will be explaining to you how the United States was formed and how it came to be what it is today. Let’s read on to hear about the amazing stories of the United States beginnings.

On December 16, 1620, the first ever pilgrims arrived via the Mayflower ship to Plymouth Harbor. They had travelled to the unmapped lands of America because they were upset with the way Britain was being ruled, and they wanted a chance to live a different life. Although they struggled at first because of the many unknown illnesses, plants, and animals. Eventually, the Pilgrims made peace with the Native Americans of the area, and they learned much about the land on which they were currently living.

Fast forward to December 16, 1773. After the American pilgrims had built up their villages and learned how to manage the land, the British government started to take advantage of and unfairly treat the immigrants in this place. They heavily taxed the people of America for all of the necessary supplies to live. Soon after, the American people became fed up with the nonsense of their British rulers and decided to revolt. This is the date of the Boston Tea Party, where the Sons of Liberty hurled all of Britain's supply of tea into the ocean. Although this was a small act, it very clearly marked the beginning of an uprising in which the American people would be taking back their country.

The war began between the two countries on April 19, 1775. There were many memorable battles, and many men sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their future generations. On July 4, 1776, the Continental Congress drafted a document that would forever change the path of history. This document was called the Declaration of Independence. It was sent to the British, demanding freedom and expressing that America was no longer a colony of Britain. The French assisted the Americans as they waged war against the British for many years, and finally, on September 3, 1783, the Treaty of Paris was signed by representatives from the newly free America and Britain. The Constitution was put out soon after, and the United States officially became a country respected and known throughout the whole world.

Even though the United States of America has been through hard times, wars, oppression, and even faltering economies, they always come back stronger than before. We must always remember those who sacrificed their lives so that we could have freedom. Although it was a long ride there, we are now more free than ever! As this 4th of July comes and goes, remember that even though we are having fun with fireworks, our ancestors heard the booming of cannons and went headfirst into battle to free us all.
