It’s definitely been a sporty season this year, and I think I’ve got the football virus, ahhh!! We’ll start with, the one and only:

“Copa del Rey”. Some of you may have been sobbing deeply into the material of your sofa, or screaming into the air, when you’ve just seen your team win!!

The Copa del Rey:

Founded in 1903, the Copa del Rey is the oldest Spanish football competition played at a national level and serves as a qualifier for the following season's UEFA Europa League.

Very old, don’t you think? Well, it’s older than me anyways. This year, the winner of this tense tournament was:

Athletic Club!!!!!

This is Bilbao’s football team, and I am sooo happy!! Give them a big clap!

Not only that, this was a really big achievement, as they haven’t won in 40 years so this is like a dream to them, and it is their 23rd time winning!

Euros 2024 cup:

Now this is every 4 years so it’s even more exciting. All countries that qualify in Europe are able to do this tournament. This year it was hosted in Germany, but obviously, there is only one winner. 

I have to say, when I was watching, I was crying/laughing/couldn’t stop smiling half the time. 

Here comes the winner:

SPAIN!!

To all the other witches and wizards who supported other countries, I’ve got to say, you all did so good, and this is probably one of the best Euros I’ve ever watched!
