Chasing Walls

Chapter 5

Days turned to weeks and weeks to months and here it was coming to a year. Seeing no end to this synical situation Starsilver has been able to stay clear of the shadowed fires that seemed it will chase him till he is one with the forest. Standing on a rocky cliff edge Starsilver turned his back to the edge and was now facing the distant fire, now closing the distance. Glancing over the edge there at the bottom to greet was a lake, a plan formed in his mind. Fire came within three meters of Starsilver before stopping and a voice came from it. "The fated Morgan Starsilver. You have nowhere to go. Fall to your death or I take your soul for you will be restless. What shall it be boy?" Starsilver spoke confidently, "COME GET ME!" The fire rushed forwards and just as it was about to connect with him he jumped up, just barely making it. Starsilver landed and looked back over the edge. "NO! HOW DARE YOU DO TH-" Before the fire could finish the flames extinguished as it collided into the lake. After centuries the forest no longer had the forever fire curse, Starsilver had broken it.

Morgan had explored pretty much all the forest but could not find an exit. Some trees weren't even real which made him suspect that the forest is either a labyrinth or hiding secrets for someone. A week after he extinguished the flames the forest floor began to vibrate and a faint alarm sounded but was always distant. One day Morgan sat up with an idea. He explored the land but not that lake. He appeared at the cliff edge after hiking a bit. He equipped the Bubble Head charm and leaped off the cliff into the lake. Upon entering the water he turned towards the cliff wall under water. A light flashed catching his attention. He swam to it and was greeted by a door. The charm was starting to wear off so with all his strength Morgan turned the wheel and opened the door just enough to slip his body through and as soon as he fully got in the heavy door shut from the water pressure. The charm wore off and Starsilver looked around. An elongated hallway greeted him, inviting him to tread deeper. At the end he opened a gold door with traces of blood on it. Voices echoed upon entering. "-this wasn't supposed to happen." "You were supposed to kill him the day he got here." "Are you going to report this to Father Goldwell?" "Everything Spat, EVERYTHING! This is going to ruin everything Spat. How could you be so careless, he proved me how dumb you are. Stay here, take over this. I'm going to fix what you couldn't do." "Sleed where you going?" "To the surface because I have to fix this you IMBECILE!" A few minutes went by and a door slammed and Sleed spoke to Spat. "Shut down the facility Spat." "What-" "LOCK IT DOWN!" Another alarm sounded but more louder. "Sleed?" "He's in the facility Spat. I looked at the lake camera and in the last ten minutes he dove in but never resurfaced." "Sleed we literally have him alive for Father Goldwell." The both spoke out, "WE ARE RICH!"
