Night at the Library-Part 1
Chapter 5
Slythia was awake, sitting up in the bed. She looked around, and saw everyone else was asleep.
She tiptoed towards the common room, and sat in one of the couches, sighing. It was lifeless. At first, she had just been staring at the wall. Knowing she could not fall back asleep, Slythia stood up, and started pacing around the room,thinking, of what to do. She couldn’t go see any of her friends, even if they were awake, most of them were in different dorms..Slythia sighed, and sat back down slumping in a chair. She sat there for hours, just staring at the wall. Finally, she heard a noise behind her, and within a second she was turned around, with her wand out.
“Lestrange?” came a voice.
“Ashy, what are you doing up?” asked Slythia, her voice calming down and her wand now at her side.
“I could ask you the same question.” Charlotte replied.
“Well I asked you first.” Slythia insisted.
“ Well I.uh.” Charlotte rolled her eyes taking a seat. “I don’t know.”
“Well, if we’re both up, we should do something.”
“We could go to the library.” Charlotte suggested.
“Yeah, and totally not get in trouble.” Slythia said, rolling her eyes.
“Oh come on, you used to be fun.” Charlotte said, crossing her arm.
Slythia rolled her eyes, and they both stood up, and thought for a moment,
“Let’s go”
“We should bring one other person.”
“No, we don’t know who we could trust.” Charlotte said, trying to reason.
“But I do.”
Charlotte agreed. They soon found themselves peering over a sleeping Nikki Macaroon.
“So do you know her?” Charlotte asked, pointing to Nikki.
Slythia glared.
“No I don’t know her at all.”“Nikki” Slythia whispered, gently shaking her.
“NIkiiiiiiiiiii” Slythia said, shaking her harder.
“Hmm?” said a sleepy voice of Nikki.
“We’re going to the library!” Slythia said, excited.
“Mhmm have fun with that.” Nikki sighed, and closed her eyes again.
“Nikki!”
“Oh come on, let’s just go.” Charlotte said, pointing at the door.
On the way to the library, they realized it would probably be locked.
“Well, that’s what this is for.” Charlotte answered, pulling out her wand.
When they reached the library, the door was open!
“Wait, look at the lock!” Slythia shouted
The lock had been picked open.
“Woah, it wasn’t opened with magic…” Charlotte said looking over.
“Don’t worry, they probably use it to fool kids into thinking it’s locked.” Slythia said,nervously.
They entered the Library.
“Lumos” Charlotte said, lighting her wand.
They looked around. Walking in and out of the aisles, Slythia heard a cough. She swung around pointing her wand towards the noise. Silence. There was a cough again. Reluctantly, Slythia started walking towards it.Her stomach burned with nervousness, getting closer and closer to where she had heard it. She walked over to a box, and learned that was where it was coming from! Slythia had her wand ready, and stepped. Out in front of it.
“KATE?” Slythia screamed.
