Chapter 12
A few years ago, when I was just under the age of 12, I was running through the woods with my brother. We ran and we ran trying to find any magical creature in the woods. Our parents thought we were throwing a Quaffle around in the field, but we had no interest in that. We were obsessed with finding a magical creature.
Though the night was still young, the sky was pitch black, the moon being our only guide through the dark forest. After what felt like hours we finally heard a crunch through the darkness. We held still, waiting to see what monster would emerge. Suddenly a Chimera comes out from the shadows, and me and my brother panic. My brother forgot his wand in his stupidity so I pointed my wand at the sky and shouted "VERDIMILLIOUS!" Red sparks emerge from my wand and erupt in the sky like a firework, lighting up the bright sky, as if it were July 4. The Chimera looks at us in anger, and me and my brother do the one thing we do best; run.
As we ran through the woods in the night hearing the beast chase after us we panted and panted trying to catch a teaspoon of fresh air. Finally, we exit the woods and out into the open fields. We turn around and the creature is nowhere in sight. We somehow outran a Chimera.
We looked down and my brother pointed out a piece of parchment on the terrain of the field. I picked it up, tapped my wand to the parchment and said "Aparecium." The parchment glowed a slight purple and words began to emerge on the parchment. My brother snatched it out of my hands and looked at it only to find that the parchment was a love letter from my sister to her boyfriend. My brother laughed at my sister, and the two of us walked back to our house after a night of bright lights.
