All potions notes that i will take. i know that lesson 7 notes are after lesson 8. It is because I managed to lose three version of notes on lesson 7 before finally managing to save this version, but by that time i had already written lesson 8 notes. Soooo, sorry?

PTNS-101: Lesson 7 (magical, mundane and transitional ingredients)

Chapter 7

magical ingredients:



  • comes from magical beasts or plants

  • magical potions take much faster effect

    • cause the body to temporarily have a higher rate of metabolism



  • magical ingredient acts as catalyst which speeds up metabolism until absorbed into bloodstream

  • has much more intense effect

    • does their work in a very short span of time

    • the effect can also cause a 'jolt' in the body due to rapid shift



  • children, very old, pregnant, people with weakened immune systems are discouraged from taking potions


mundane ingredients:



  • used as milder alternatives to potions

  • can be used by children and all other people who can't take potions

  • can be taken every day without adverse side effects

    • taking potions for digestion everyday can cause the digestive system to weaken as it gets dependent on the potion for the digestion

    • however, ginger (mundane ingredient) can be taken daily without any side effects



  • can be used to give a nice flavor to potions


transitional ingredients:



  • have no magical properties of their own

  • when used in conjugation with other magical ingredients, it has some magical property of its own.

  • it is unknown what causes the latent magical ability

  • some say they are an early development towards magic

  • others say another expression for the magical gift/talent
