Most depictions of Hippogriffs feature large, eagle-like creatures with white tipped wings and rounded yellow beaks, but the Hippogriffs of Hogwarts are much more diverse. Each one has a different colored coat ranging anywhere from stormy grey to chestnut brown to a roan pinkish hue. For example, Buckbeak, the Hippogriff who lets harry fly on his back and injures Malfoy, has large, peircing orange eyes, as well as a great, sharp head.
