Chapter 3: To Be Or Not To Be
Chapter 3
Hello again! Alix here. Today we're going to be talking about politeness and manners.
Yaaaaay.
Ok, ok, this is gonna be a quickie.
Manners. Be polite, oh my god. If you don't agree with someone's views or identity, KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.
I repeat.
KEEP IT TO
YOURSELF
The person you don't agree with will generally not care that you think their gender is invalid! Well, they might, which makes being polite all the better. You don't want to be a jerk. Unless you do. In that case, kindly go away. Invalidating someone and saying that they're 'making things up' or being 'pervy' or just trying to get attention is awful. It makes me feel awful. It makes others feel awful, especially if you do it publicly. It makes the recipient feel awful. Just don't.
If they ask you to call them by certain pronouns, from she/her to xyr/xe, then please don't scoff and say no! It really really hurts. Just nod and accept it. And make an effort to try and call them that. We notice, and we appreciate it.
And just be polite in general! No name calling, taunting, teasing or anything. They are them and you are you. That's all. :)
