People have many different stereotypes about Slytherin, most of them started with Voldemort. But even though I'm in Ravenclaw, I want to set those doubts straight. 

First of all, as I came across many House Sorting quizzes, the questions would be like this:

How would you like to be remembered?

• Smart


• Kind


• Scary


• Brave

 People think that being evil is the same as being cunning-  but its not. The confusing bit here is that Slytherins are ambitious and will go to great lengths to achieve what they want, so if what they want is to be evil, they would probably achieve it. 

Take an example- many great acts that Slytherins did were depicted as evilness, but were really acts of protection. The most famous one was done by Snape. He tormented Harry for years, partly because he took pleasure in it, but partly so that Harry wouldn't become aware of his deeds- if he did, Voldemort could have read his mind and kill Snape.

Another stereotype is that they are all malicious and cruel people. It is true that Slytherin would turn to cruelty the soonest of the other three Houses, but it is not true that they are all born and raised in malicious atmospheres. 

And the last stereotype that I will mention in this book is that they would hurt others to achieve even very small goals. This is not true! This would only happen in more dire situations- they are not completely blind to human compassion!

Anyway, thank you for reading this book, and I hope you will think twice now before condemning someone just for being a Slytherin!
