1. Wand-Lighting Charm
Chapter 1
The wand-lighting charm can be used from anything from looking for something in your basement, to reading under your covers. It is not fire, and is more like a muggle contraption known as a flashlight. If you do not know what a flashlight is, you can owl Professor Castillo, who is the muggle studies teacher, and ask about it.
Instructions:
To use, you say Lumos (LOO-mos), while swinging you wand forward then swing it up in a sort of loop. Warning: If you don't charge it enough it will be a dim white. If you overcharge it, it will be bright scarlet.
To put out the light, you say Nox (NOCK-ss), and do a small jab.
Trivia:
It was first used by Levina Monkstanley in 1772 to find a lost quill.
