Another First-Year Diary
I'm muggle-born at Hogwarts, but I'm hoping to be something better. I'm hoping to show the wizarding world what Muggles can do. I'm hoping to be smart, brave, honest, and a good friend. This book shows the adventures of a first-year who wants to show that she is not just another Muggle.

Acceptance Letters
Chapter 1
The owl flew through the terrible storm, diving under Muggle bridges. The letter tied to it's leg scraped the owl, but the owl didn't care. It had one mission only, and that mission was not to adjust the letter to it's requirements. Thunder crashed and lightning struck while the owl soared above the clouds. It had little to no strength left, but it was determined to reach it's goal. The owl passed the storm soon enough, to see a field with a girl on broomstick teasing her owl. The girl turned her head as the tawny bird crashed to the ground. She sped to the ground and hopped off, running towards the creature. The girl picked it up and ran towards the cottage a few yards away. Her owl followed, nipping at her leg. "Hey, stop, Dawn!" She said to the owl. Then she noticed the piece of parchment on the owl's leg. She untied it and looked it over. Glistening on the envelope was a golden seal, shining with a lion, a badger, a raven, and snake. She gasped. "MUM! DAD! I GOT THE LETTER! I'M GOING TO HOGWARTS!" she yelled as she carried the owl inside.
Day 1
First of all, yes, I'm Muggle-born. But I'm adopted by a witch and a wizard, so now I'm part of this world. It's kind of hard to fit in, because some older kids on summer holidays are always very annoying about me being adopted. They are Slytherins, though.
I couldn't even think of the first way to express my excitement when I got the letter. I mean, I never really thought I would get the letter. I'm going to Diagon Alley with Mum and Dad tomorrow to get my school supplies. I'll tell you how it goes when I get my things.
Wish me luck,
