A potion is defined as a magical mixture that combines both magical and mundane ingredients.
“Potion”= any magical combination of ingredients that has been brewed to achieve a certain effect.
Only a witch or wizard should ever ingest or apply a potion.
Certain ancient magical and non-magical communities coexisted closely. However, after enactment of the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy of 1689 the two worlds were separated. This division lead to muggles having little-to-no magic exposure and in turn lead to later generations being unable to handle direct contact.
“Snake oil salesman” = One who intentionally sells fraudulent goods for high prices to Muggles.
It may be possible for Muggles to build up a tolerance through long-term exposure.
