I completely forgot, today was my parent’s 20th anniversary. I was scared; every time they took out their ring pretending that they were at the wedding 20 years ago. What if they murdered me, what would I do? Just die I guess, not such a big deal. Ok, it was a big deal, I can tell you that. I heard my mum call me for their fake wedding. Willow knew what they were going to do and put a slight smirk on her face. 

They took out their wedding rings and at once Willow and I exchanged our confused expressions. The ring was not the one in the room. I had to find out so ignoring the celebration, I ran to my parents room with Willow behind me. 

I opened the box where the rings lay, they were still there. Spinning back to the past , when my parent’s first showed me their ring, this one in the box was not their ring. Someone has put this here. It is a fake, my mother kills a fake. We live in France, in France it is illegal to have fake jewellery and my father is a police officer. Someone put this here on purpose. Willow gasped,”Jade, your parents don’t seem to be the murderers, someone planted this I suppose.”

I gasped back, “Willow what if all of this was just a lie, to make us think wrongly. What if everything was planted by the murderer. Let’s start from the beginning.”

“Jade, I am the worst detective on the planet. If the murderer was planting clues then why do it in only one room, and why do such a bad clue. Because, they did other rooms with better clues. They did all the rooms. Oh Jade, you are amazing,” she figured. 

We remembered everything that happened before the murder occurred:

-At dinner, Emily went off to her office and came back with Noah’s scarf, asking if she could borrow it. That was something. Alexander was sleeping with me and Willow. I had not slept the whole night and Alexander was sleeping the whole time. Agatha stayed with us during dinner. Maxwell was at the table. Ava was at the table. 

Maxwell came to us, and said that he knew we were bored. He gave us a puzzle that he made to work out. Willow ignored it and kept thinking. But I was solving it, that is what detectives do. 

“Ok, we can rule out May Chen, Lousie Chen and Alexander. We are left with four suspects,” Willow stated. I was relieved when she said that my parents were ruled out. Alexander, I didn’t really care. 

It was only a few minutes later when I realised that the puzzle that Noah wrote was with his handwriting. In the note that was in his room, it said,’Noah, Monday, dead’ but it was not in his handwriting. Another clue that was planted. This was exactly what I told Willow, she smiled at my thought. Someone else who was ruled out, both of his clues were planted. Only three people left and those were, Agatha, Ava and Emily.
