Lesson One: Introduction Into Charms
Chapter 1
OK, so if you picked up this book, you either wanted to check it out, needed help in charms, was plain curious, or wanted the easy way out on your essay. Well, prepare to have your notes written down for you!
OK, so this lesson is basically a bunch of history and how to make light and extinguish it. LETS GET STARTED.
Spell(s):
Lumos (Loo-mo-ss) This spell will make light come out of the tip of your wand and say it correctly.
Nox (No-ck-ss) This spell will turn out the light on the end of your wand
History:
- Magic has been around since ancient times.
- Back then, magic was used much more openly and freely than today
- In ancient Greece and Egypt, witches and wizards were of very class
- Magic was pretty much used to protect tombs and such
- In around 1000 CE, the wizard and Muggle world had already separated
- In the 1400s, a magical government based on locational and cultural values
- Witches and Wizards were persecuted in around 1600. They were burned, drowned, etc. Fourtunately, they could perform magic, so they usually got out alive
- The Ollivander family were some of the first wandmakers, though wands had already been invented. But lastin from 382BCE to now makes them the longest in business!
- Decree for the Reasonable Restriction of Underage Society (1875)- No witch nor wizard under the age of 17 is allowed to use magic outside of school unless in deadly circumstances
