Raven at Hogwarts in January

Chapter 2

January at Hogwarts brought the students back by the Hogwarts Express after the Christmas vacations, some eager to continue their studies, others disappointed to leave home as the holidays ended. The Christmas mood slowly withered off, though remnants of the cheerful spirit still lingered in the air.

The students of Hogwarts savored the last of the snow before it melted, having more snowball fights and making the most of the chill that was still remaining in the air.

Classes began in earnest, spells were practiced, and potions were brewed. Students completed homework, researched and read in the library, met new creatures in their Care of Magical Creatures classes, and planted new herbs, shrubs, and trees in the greenhouses.

Quidditch matches continued as usual on the Quidditch pitch. Spectators sat on the edge of their seats throughout the matches, cheering loudly and anticipating a victory for the teams they supported. When there were no matches going on, incredibly dedicated teams were seen practicing regularly on the pitch, determined to seize victory in the upcoming matches.

As January slowly rolled on, students eased into the routine of academic schedules, and all of Hogwarts picked up its usual pace. The winter chills decreased in intensity over time, and the castle regained its usual ambiance and mood.
