Chapter 1
Many years ago, on a cold December night, a child was
born. His name was Tom Marvolo Riddle. His mother, nor anybody else, knew what
he would grow up to become.
Tom Riddle was born to Merope Gaunt and Tom Riddle I. His
mother only had time to name him before dying. So he grew up in a Muggle
orphanage. He only knew what he was when Dumbledore visited him.
Tom Riddle, or Voldemort, was an evil, loathsome man. No,
not man, beast. He reigned for 28 years. But for 10 years, he was in hiding
because of one boy, just one boy, couldn’t be killed. Harry Potter was only a
year old when Riddle tried to kill him, but Harry’s mother’s love was too great
and it instead put Riddle into hiding. He was nothing more than a couple
fragments of his soul for those 10 years.
Through
it all, my family has lived, somehow managing by following the Dark Lord
himself. I, on the other hand, was kept hidden. I knew about Voldemort but he
did not know about me. It gets hard at this point, but I believe that I can
explain it.
When
I was born, it was a horrifying experience. Mother and Father were shocked.
They had not expected twins. So they named us Draco and Cassiopeia. I was shut
out of their lives and when I went to Hogwarts, I was sorted into Slytherin. I
stuck to the shadows observing everything. I knew it when Mother went to
Severus Snape’s, I knew it when he tried to help Draco, when he killed
Dumbledore. I knew it all. He never even knew I existed.
Even
though my parents weren’t proud of me, I still believed that Mudbloods, Muggles
and Wizards shouldn’t mix.
I believed this with all my heart. Even when I
met Rousha Rosier. He was a child born under the Sacred 28 as well, but he
tried with all his might to make me care for Mudbloods and Muggles. I didn’t
listen. Many years later, I land in the clutches of the Dark Lord himself. I
passed fairly easily and went to live with my aunt, Bellatrix Lestrange.
If
you ask me now, I think that there should be union between the Wizarding World
and the Muggle World. I believe that there could be a connection. It could work
out. Alas, this would not work. There’d be too much stress on those of us who
can perform magic. One topic you should not ever, if you meet me, get me
started on is: Squibs. Read this book and you’ll understand, even if the Dark
Lord’s face isn’t in the Daily Prophet© every day, he was still very dangerous
and tampered with magic. I look back upon my life then and think: How did I
live like that? Trust me, you need to know as much as you can about Voldemort
as possible. There are theories that he might return.
