It was a hot, hot summers day in August. Usually Britain was not so hot, but it is the summer after all. My mother had been busy cooking a great feast for my Aunt Hilda. Father was in the garage  "working on the car," but he was actually reading the paper. Dad never really liked Aunt Hilda, he said that Aunt Hilda is one the most stuck up rich British person he has ever met. When dad told mum that mum slapped dad and said, " You don't talk about my sister like that!". Boy was mum angry, she said, " You talking about my sister like that when you are a British person! "My sister wanted to have it at her house, but i said no we will have it at my house." You know why i said that Greg!" Then dad said, "No Maddie", but before dad was finished mum interrupted him and said, "I said it because i know you don't like her." "I did it to make you mad!" I couldn't take all this fighting so i ran up stairs into my bedroom. Mum and Dad fight often but not as much as other people. Truth be told they actually really love each other. I was staring at the ceiling in my room when all of the sudden a i heard a thump I rushed down stairs and out the back door into the back yard. A brown barn owl was laying on the ground, it looked like it was dead but when i went to poke it with a stick it moved. I jumped back and the owl stood up and held its leg out like it was trying to get me to take the letter. So as any curious child would do i took the letter and ran back inside. When i looked out the window the owl was flying off. Mother and Father came over to me and asked " Josilyn are you alright you look frightened." I said, "I'm fine just that owl that was in the backyard frightened me a bit." "It had this letter attached to its leg." Mother looked at it and said," Josilyn we were so worried you wouldn't get your letter." I asked," What letter?" Them mum said, "Your letter to hogwarts dear."
