Each month within the Daily Prophet group we showcase a different professor in order to celebrate and admire their hard work! Today we have a very special guest, Professor Aspen, who I even managed to organize a time for an interview with him. Let’s take a look, shall we? 

1. How did your love of Herbology sprout? Was there a particular event which led you into this field?

 My fascination for Herbology started at a very young age. I always had problems socializing with people so I used to spend lots of time in the greenhouses, caring for and tending the plants. Soon enough, I realized I could talk to them and spend my time in their company. However, I was soon marked as a freak by many of my classmates although some shared my fascination for plants, who became my human friends later on. Since then, I have been interested in plants and their behavior. 

2. Why do you think the sorting hat decided to sort you into Gryffindor?

 I think I was put into Gryffindor because of my courage and bravery, especially when I see someone is/was treated unfairly. I cannot stand seeing people being aggressive to others so I think a Gryffindor would act in response.

3. What have you enjoyed the most during your time as a professor at Hogwarts?

The possibility of spreading my love for plants and the interaction with my students have been the best parts of my tenure in HiH. Seeing my students' faces with a smile when they get good marks in their assignments is marvelous.

Professor Aspen shows such kindness towards many on a daily basis, and is always open to any questions, no matter how “silly” they may be.
