My Decision

written by Melody Yuan

Jessica Smith was a witch. This is one of the few things that she was one hundred percent sure about. Now this has been taken from her as well. Turns out as well as being a witch she’s also a half-blood, a daughter of Zeus. She can also control all four elements. And on top of all of this she is also an Egyptian magician that hosts Nut. The mother of Egyptian gods and the goddess of the sky. Then she finds herself closer to the enemy than her friends. She can either use this to her and her friend’s advantage or she can just continue on with her life. Then she tells her friends and now everything has changed. Nobody wants her around, fearing she would betray them as soon as she got the chance. Now she has a choice. Help her friends or turn her back on them. Oh and on top of all this she can only choose one thing. She has to choose to be either a witch, a half-blood, or an Egyptian magician by her eighteenth birthday. If she doesn’t then she dies.

Chapter 6: Yay. I'Ve Always Wanted To Fail On A Broomstick.

Chapter 7

So, when I told Harry and Ron that we had flying lessons together (meaning Gryffindors and Slytherins), let's just say that didn't go so well. "What?!" Harry's response was a little bit nicer. "Great. Just what I wanted. To make a fool out of myself in front of Malfoy." "Oh, it'll be fine." "For you, maybe." "Just calm down, Harry." "Nervous, Mud-blood?" Malfoy said to me. "I'm a pure-blood, idiot." "Yeah, well, based on how you act, you're a Mud-blood." "That's called a blood-traitor, idiot." I said. "Like, I said. I know something you don't." Malfoy rolled his eyes as he walked away. "What does Mud-blood mean?' Harry questioned. "It's a really foul name for muggle-borns." "Then why did he call you that?" "Because he's a idiotic jerk." Ron growled. "Yeah, what he said. It doesn't matter."
When we got to the grounds, ready to start our flying lesson, we all stood by a broom. Suddenly, the teacher, Madame Hooch, arrived. "Well, what are you all waiting for? Everyone who didn't have the brain cells to stand by a broom, go stand by a broom!" There was silence as everyone rustled over to a broom. "Stick out your hand over your broom and say-" "UP!" I shouted, which caused my broom to jump into my hand. "Sorry." I looked down. "Well done, Weasley. Everyone say 'Up!' like Ms. Weasley here." Harry and Ron both tried and only Harry got it. "How did you two do it?" Ron questioned furiously.
"I'm awesomer than you. And older. And nic-" "No, I'm not kidding. Seriously! How?" I shrugged before turning my attention back to Madame Hooch. She then showed us how to mount our brooms and walked up and down the lines, correcting our grips. I was especially happy when she said mine was perfect but Malfoy's had been wrong for years.
Again, Neville ruined everything by pushing off too early and breaking his wrist. As Madame Hooch and Neville walked to the hospital wing Malfoy burst out laughing. "Did you see his face, that great lump?" "Shut up, Malfoy!" Another Gryffindor girl and I snapped. "Ooh, Weasley. Didn't know you liked crybabies." Parkinson, a Slytherin, said. "Ooh, Parkinson. Didn't know you liked-" I was caught off by Malfoy who grabbed something out of the grass. "Look! It's that thing Longbottom got from his gran." It was Neville's rememberall. "Give it here." Harry said quietly. "Actually, I think I'll leave it somewhere for Longbottom to find. Maybe a tree, perhaps?" "Give it!" I screamed, jumping on my broom and pushing off. Harry did the same thing, following me like he'd been riding for years. "Give it, or I'll knock you off your broom!" Harry threatened. "Oh, yeah?" Malfoy smirked. "QUIT SMIRKING! Do anything else, just QUIT SMIRKING!" I yelled at him, causing everyone to stare at me in confusion. "Sorry! It bothers me." I then shot my broom towards Malfoy, taking him off guard.
He smirked- What is wrong with you?!- before throwing it at a Hogwarts window. Both me and Harry raced towards it before it landed squarely in my hand. "Got it!" Malfoy glared at me before slamming into me, causing me to drop the rememberall. I fell, before everything went black.
