Chapter 5: Snape Really Hates Harry, Doesn'T He?

Chapter 6

As I walked down to Potions the next day, I heard Harry say, "What do we have today?" "Double Potions with Slytherins." As much as I hated it, I could hear the hate and venom in Ron's voice when he said Slytherins. "What's wrong with my house, Ronnekins?" "Nothing!" He said, a little too quickly.
I sighed but walked down with them to Potions with Snape. After the class started, Snape called roll. When he got to Harry, he stopped. He whispered, "Ah, yes. Harry Potter, our new... celebrity." He then, called out Ron and my names. "Oh, yes. Our new Weasley's." "Hello." I said, looking innocent when Snape glared at me. Suddenly, Snape said, "Potter! What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" A Gryffindor girl and my hand went straight up. He ignored our hands, his attention fully on Harry. "I... I don't know, sir." "Tut, tut... clearly, fame isn't everything." "Excuse me, sir! You would get-" I started. "Was I asking you, Ms. Weasley? One point from Slytherin." Snape said.
All of the Slytherins groaned, including Malfoy, who sent me a deadly glare. "Let's try again, Potter. Where would you look if I told you to find me a beazor?" Once again, the Gryffindor girl and my hand went straight up. And, once again, Snape ignored our hands. "I don't know, sir." "Thought you wouldn't open a book before coming, eh, Potter? What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" I groaned, obviously Harry didn't know any of these things. Why did Snape have to embarrass him? "Weasley! Answer?" "Huh? What?" My head snapped up, giving Snape my full attention. "What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?" He said slowly, like I was a four year old. "Nothing, sir. They're the same plant." He glared at me so strongly I almost winced. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" "The Draught of Living Death, sir."
"Where would you look if I told you to find me a beazor?" "The stomach of a goat, professor. It can save you from most poisons." His mouth flickered into a mini smile so quickly that I don't think anyone else saw it. "Well? Why aren't you all copying that down?" There was a loud rummaging for quills and parchment. "Five points to Slytherin, Weasley." As the Potions lesson continued, Harry and Ron continued to fail. We were put into pairs to create a simple potion to cure boils, and sadly, I was paired with Malfoy.
"Oh, great. It's you." "Please. I'm the one who just won us four points." "It was five." "No, because I lost one point earlier, remember? Can you even do math?" But, as everyone started, suddenly clouds of acid smoke and a loud hissing sound filled the classroom. "Blah! What is that?" Malfoy yelled. "Obviously, someone messed up their potion, genius." "Oh, and yeah, I'm so totally a genius." "Shut up, Malfoy." We were brought back to attention by Snape who snarled, "Idiot boy! I suppose you added the porcupine quills after you took the cauldron off the fire?" "Yeah, okay. I don't care." So, I was basically just sitting there the whole time, tuning out Ron and Harry getting yelled at by Snape.
