Breaking and Shattering News, Uh-oh What Happened to the Professors
Chapter 3
There were some personal issues among the Professors at Hogwarts this month and this month witnessed the resignation of a large number of Professors and Professor assistants due to the aforesaid personal issues or due to issues in their own personal lives. A list of the Professors who resigned (this list is not exhaustive) is given below (as can be seen, most resignations were by Professors of the elective subjects): -
Professor Venita Wessex (Ancient Runes Professor)- this came as a real shocker to almost everyone and was the most sad and catastrophic event in the lives of Hogwarts staff and students, as Professor Wessex was a very active Professor with multiple involvements at Hogwarts. She had contributions to writing lessons for and guest lectures in almost each and every subject and if you take lessons in and around this timeline at Hogwarts, you will see her mentioned multiple number of times in the lessons of almost any subject. Professor Wessex was proficient in not only Ancient Runes but also in Divination and has five books published in the current Hogwarts Library which are 'Rune Dictionary' (a textbook for Ancient Runes at Hogwarts) by Venita Wessex, 'The Seer's Guide To Seeing' by Venita Wessex, 'Gardiner's Sign List: A Magical Addendum' by Venita Wessex, 'The Magical Mediterranean' by Venita Wessex and 'Rapa Nui and Rongorongo: Isolated and Elusive' by Venita Wessex. There was apparently a personal issue among the Professors, which made Professor Wessex feel disrespected and fueled her resignation along with her main PA Isabel Rhodesse. This was mentioned by Professor Wessex herself in a post on her own Hogwarts social media profile wall and was commented on by Professor Draekon expressing his regret at her leaving and attempting to clear up past misunderstandings. The more curious of you can still see Professor Venita Wessex's profile at Hogwarts social media by searching for it.
Professor Abigail Swithun (Divination Professor)- The talented Professor Swithun who taught Divination at Hogwarts resigned, leaving her students and fellow staff at Hogwarts disappointed and sad at her resignation.
These resignations led to piled up grading queues and Professor Wessex also took the grading rubrics along with her during her resignation, therefore there were a lot of queued up assignments and Professor-less subjects for some time. However, Headmistress Oshiro stepped in for each of these Professors, assisted by Professor Rosenquist (Alchemy Professor) and Professor Everby (History of Magic Professor) of Hogwarts for some of the subjects, and took up the reins soon making Hogwarts run smoothly again for now.
Though these resignations were truly disappointing events and made September a truly disappointing and sad month, it was not all leaving and resignation at Hogwarts. Professor Oliver Adler (Astronomy Professor) joined Hogwarts and took up his position as co-Professor with Professor Robert Plumb (Astronomy Professor) at Hogwarts. The Astronomy lessons for quite a few years• at Hogwarts are also undergoing rewrites.
Professor Assistant applications did not seem to be getting considered much, indicating that no shortage of Professor Assistants or PAs was felt.
• By years, I mean not calendar years but a student's year at Hogwarts, such as first year at Hogwarts, second year at Hogwarts and so on.
