The Plan
Chapter 3
The night at the new campsite, Hadley hardley slept at all. The Snatchers had been on her mind all night, and she couldn't shake off the thought that they were coming for them this minute. Hadley hadn't doubted that they would be runaways, and that the entire Wizarding World was looking for them, but she wished they would be more protected. It was about a quarter to six in the morning, but Hermione was already up, preparing breakfast. Hadley and Hermione both knew that Ron and Harry were up, and keeping quiet, but they didn't go to their side to see what they were up to. Hadley stayed quiet, trying to eavesdrop on Ron and Harry's conversation, without reassuring Hermione that she was awake. Ron and Harry came out, and entered the kitchen, when they greeted Hermione softy. They started talking, in a low tone, that way Hadley couldn't be able to hear. Hadley knew they were planning something, so she entered the kitchen to let them all know she was awake. And wide awake too. "Morning, Had," Harry said with a yawn. Hadley gave him a small wave, then grimaced at Ron, who was fidgeting with the tent floor. "Sleep alright?" Hermione said briskly, now cooking eggs. "Could have been better," Hadley answered with a sigh. Hadley timidly looked around. She wondered how to bring a question up without it seeming like she was a baby. "Are we.....," Hadley started, then turned her attention back to Harry and Hermione. "Safe?"
The room fell silent. They all exchanged looks. It was very quiet, execpt for Hadley and her thoughts. She knew that she was two years younger than them all, and that they wanted to protect her from the truth as long as they could, and reassure her it was alright, but now wasn't the time for lies. Harry and Hermione stared at each other the longest. It was like they were communicating in their minds, but that wasn't possible. Hadley's face grew inpatient. Hermione grew livid with anger. "Harry, no," She said plainly. "We can't hold this off forever," Harry said. Ron stood silently in the corner. Hermione groaned. "No! It's too risky!" "But it's her life," Harry said. Hadley's face looked shocked. "Fine. But don't say too much if she can't handle it. She's only sixteen," Hermione said. Harry smiled at Hermione. "I know," He said. Harry turned to Hadley. "You might want to sit down, sis," Harry said. Hadley crossed her arms and sat on the couch. Harry took a deep breath. Hermione turned the stovetop off, and folded her arms to watch. Ron sat down on a armchair next to Hadley.
"So, Voldemort," Harry started. Hadley nodded him on. "He created this building. This building, he created unknowingly," Harry said, almost in a whisper. "What building?" Hadley asked. "it's called, "Magic Manor, as I hear," Harry said. "What about it?" Hadley asked. Harry was about to respond, when Hermione cut him off. "It's in the name, is it not? Magic Manor. It obviously has magic. Which is the point of it," Hermione said. "Nobody has ever been inside," Ron chimed in. "Dumbledore told me, when he was our age, he had retreived a prophecy, referring to a birth in 1981," Harry said. "What was the prophecy?" Hadley asked, interested. "It said that a Potter born at the end of October would be gifted," Hermione said. "But that's not all. It said they would be gifted from the Manor," Ron said. "I thought no one could get it?" Hadley said. "You are right, but that one person would be able to open it," Harry said. "But i seriously doubt im that person," Hadley said. Ron and Hermione exchanged glances. "Everything is perfectly lined up. You have to be," Hermione said. Hadley shook her head. "There is no way," Hadley said. Harry stared at her. He nodded slightly. Hadley stood up and went outside the tent. A little walk might be nice, especially with all the nonsense they were talking.
