Chapter 3
BASIC PLANT NEEDS:
Each plant has specific needs that may differ from other plants.
- Sunlight; how much/when to put your plant in the sun, consider shade, sunlight in the morning & afternoon & evening differ & have different effects.
- Water; do not overwater (common issue), consider drainage, consider if the soil is rocky or fine.
- Soil; areas of land have different components of soil (nutrient levels, climate & pH levels), most plants prefer a mildly acidic to normal pH level, the detection charm can help you detect pH levels.
Normal pH; 7.0
Acidic pH; 4.0-6.6
Basic/Alkaline; 7.6-14.0
Most plants range; 6.0-7.0
LIFE CYCLE:
It's difficult to know for sure since you have to cut its lifespan in half for medicinal/experimental use. Ignoring this fact, some plants live for a few weeks and some live for many years.
- Growing; seed, sprout, maturation - some plants may have a stage for germination (plants with buds/flowers).
- Repotting; may be required or not at all, some plants need reporting due to overgrown roots, flesh-eating plants double their intake (ie. Gauit Roots).
- Harvesting; may happen frequently, harvesting includes picking apples off trees - but this may not be an option for some plants as they are dangerous, not even dragonhide gloves - use the severing charm to harvest plants you cannot safely touch.
SPELL BLOCKS:
- Detection charm; acidius revealius, ah-SID-ee-us reh-VEH-lee-us, wand movement is curved blades of grass from the bottom, willpower & concentration is low.
- Severing charm; diffindo, deef-IN-doe, wand movement is v-shaped, low willpower & moderate concentration (position & depth of the cut).
