Lore: Project Suboria

Project Suboria is a series of dystopian, post-apocalyptic settings built by yours truly. These settings are planned to become connected into one whole game sometime in the distant future. PRESENT: 2053 [- LORE -] HISTORY: In the year of 2024, The USSR was reformed by a new dictator - Abram Ivankov. Ivankov, after becoming dictator, immediately began to seek to spread socialism throughout nearby countries in Europe and Asia. As they formed a tight bond with China, they decided to invite China into their quest for spreading socialism and communism with the nearby countries, and, eventually, the entire world. This was called the New Age Plan. After China agreed, several other countries, such as North Korea and Vietnam, joined because their countries were based on communism and dictatorship as well, but much of it was driven by fear. However, the USA soon found out about their plans from spies that were planted in the USSR government to find suspicious behavior in case they become too dangerous like they have been back in the 20th century. USA immediately declared war against the USSR in 2035, and the USSR replied with a surprise attack by Chinese fleets upon New York City. USA, realizing that the USSR had allies in the plan, formed alliances with other countries, including Sweden, Germany, and South Korea. USA's attempt to ally with the British had failed because Britain wished to keep away from any conflicts, as its prime minister was just recently replaced, and to make things worse, the prime minister was of the age 19, just one year above the minimum age, and was very clueless about tactics or war. The USSR and its allies named themselves the "Pursuers of the New Age," and the USA and its allies were named the "Preservation Powers." This war went on for seventeen years until in 2052, when the USA and USSR signed a treaty saying that the war would be paused for at least five years and at the most fifteen years, as both sides had taken too much damage and refugees and deaths were increasing in number. Supplies have run out and military forces have been greatly weakened. The pause would go on for seven years, in which the USA would make the initiating attack, going against all expectations, by dropping three extremely powerful nuclear bombs known as "super-nukes" on the cities of Moscow, Guangzhou, and Beijing. China withdrew from the war, which led the North Koreans to withdraw as well. As the superpower of China disappeared from the battle, Sweden and Germany decided to withdraw, believing that the USA would now be able to handle the rest. Vietnam attempted to shoot a missile to the USA, but the missile was caught on radar and shot back to Vietnam's capital, Hanoi. This led the Vietnamese to withdraw as well. South Korea and Japan withdrew after Kyoto, Japan was shot by an atomic bomb from the USSR. The battle came back between the USSR and USA. USA would eventually rise victorious after the USSR surrenders after the USA drops two more "super-nukes" in Saint Petersburg and Novosibirsk. SETTING: The roleplay is set in 1953, one year after the FIC was paused. CITIES: Shadewalk City: Once a highly technological and populous city near Seattle, Washington, this American capital of technology was the first to be targeted by nuclear missiles of Numen, an extremist organization located in the borders of Nicaragua. The city was still under construction, and planned to become a revolutionary "smart city," attempting to succeed on what the Koreans have failed with Songdo. The Shadewalk Project was 89% done until the Numen Nuclear Attack of 2049. The Attack was followed by another invasion of Chinese fleets, which destroyed almost half of the surviving area. Most of Shadewalk City was preserved and survived the missiles, but about 3/4 of the city was destroyed, and the surviving area is divided into two districts: the Ghetto and the City. The Ghetto was originally flat wasteland, but poor citizens of Shadewalk and refugees from other places have rebuilt the area into a small neighborhood. The wealthy and those with higher authority reside in the City area. Parkton: Another great city located in Illinois, in the location of what was once known as Chicago, the largest city in Illinois. This place was corrupt by anarchy and insurgency against the state government, and gangsters and rebels have raided buildings, shops, houses, and much more. The Trump International Hotel & Tower has famously collapsed due to a grenade shower by rebels on the lower floors of the tower. The collapsing destroyed hundreds of buildings and killed thousands of people, and its minor earthquake shook down other buildings that were already frail because of rebel attacks. This event caused a huge fire, now known as the Great Parkton Fire of 2039, which destroyed over half of the city. Survivors are trapped in the least harmed central area, the only exit to the outside world being the West Wabash Avenue that leads to the East Upper Wacker Drive. A nearby airport serves as a long-distance transportation and as a refugee camp. The cost for a single plane ride is, however, unimaginably expensive due to shortage of gas and pilots. Parkton is 10% survivors and 70% mutants... and 20% giant mutated mutants. Darion: The safest known safe town located in Bar Harbor, Maine, was a small city that was bombed by missiles of the newly formed USSR. After the bombing, survivors and refugees from nearby cities came together and created a small but strong safe haven. This town was named after Garrett Darion, the last governor of Bar Harbor who had died from the USSR bombing. Darion was best known for making Bar Harbor one of the richest cities in the northeastern area of the US by enhancing and creating more recreational activities while the state was going through a minor depression. Darion is known to many as "the safest haven," but that reputation is slowly fading away as population is growing and more mutants have begun to appear in the area. WARING NATIONS: Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR): Reformed by dictator Abram Ivankov, this new communist nation has risen again in military power and participates in the First International Conflict. This returning of the archrival of the USA led many nations to join the Pursuers of the New Age. United States of America (USA): A superpower and leader of the Preservation Powers, this country was by far the most frequently attacked nation in the whole First International Conflict. The People's Republic of China (PRC): As the country grew in population and gained more money by manufacturing goods for cheap prices, this superpower is the greatest ally of the USSR in their fight for a new age of communism. Germany: This country, despite its dark past, decided to join the Preservation Powers in the FIC to renew its long-time notorious image. Sweden: A minor country supporting the PP in the FIC, mainly providing supplies to refugees of PP countries. Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK): Also known as North Korea, this country supports the PNA in the FIC. So far this country had not made any significant actions or achievements. Republic of Korea (RoK): Also known as South Korea, this long-time enemy of the DPRK has joined the PP in order to keep the world away from communism. This country has officially cut all trade and terminated all donations to the DPRK, and now the DPRK is in danger of withdrawing from the war due to lack of supplies. RoK has also helped in recruiting the Japanese into the PP. State of Japan: Japan was influenced by Korean speeches and had decided to join the PP in the FIC. Japan has went ahead and sent fighter planes to raid Moscow in the USSR. Moscow, hit by surprise, as the USSR generals were planning an invasion to the USA in Moscow, was heavily damaged, and Japanese fleets had withdrawn without harm after about only 1 day, before the USSR had time to send defenses. Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV): A new rising superpower, this nation was greatly supported by the USSR and has quickly developed in technology and has built a powerful military. The USSR had intentionally supported the country so that the country would join the PNA in the FIC. TERMS: First International Conflict (FIC): First called World War III, the war was sparked up as the USSR reformed and sought to spread socialism and communism throughout the world. The USA had declared war in order to halt the USSR's goals, but the USSR had allied with other nearby communist countries to outnumber and harass the USA. The USA responded by recruiting its own pledged allies into the war and turning the battle into a full-on violent conflict between the Communists and Preservers. Preservers: Social group wishing to stop the Communists and keep the world's governments as they are. The New Age Plan: The plan formed by USSR and its allies to spread communism, socialism, and dictatorship throughout the world, which would be ruled by USSR and its allies. ORGANIZATIONS: -Major- Preservation Powers (PP): The side of nations in the FIC defending the world as it is and stopping the spread of communism by the PNA. Pursuers of the New Age (PNA): The side of nations in the FIC seeking to spread communism and defeat the PP in order to do so. -minor- Numen: A group of extremist terrorists located in Puerto Rico, widely believed to be working for the PNA. The Valiant Neutralists (TVN): A social group of those neutral about the war with a goal to stop the conflict as soon as possible to prevent further destruction and chaos. Council of Ethics (CoE): A group of scholars and philosophers looking for a way to diplomatically end the FIC. American Union for Refugee Protection (AURA): An organization providing North and South American refugees with supplies, shelter, and protection, formed by refugees for refugees. Final Resort Militia (FRM): A large militia of men in the USSR planning to destroy the USA if the PNA begins to lose the FIC. Neon Vortex Force (NVF): A small agency of intelligence in the United States working independently and occasionally supporting the government by providing information and intelligence gained from enemy forces. Warriors of Ho Chi Minh (WHCM): A group of male adolescents and elders in Vietnam seeking to preserve the government of Vietnam as it is now and protecting the nation altogether. Asian Preservation Service (APS): A non-profit organization formed by the UN to protect borders of Asia during the FIC. Scandinavian Justice Organization (SJO): A group located in various Scandinavian countries of those wishing to join the FIC on certain sides. Members of these groups often travel to countries they despise in order to secretly ambush them, usually through terrorism or massacre, without the order of their country's government. Avengers of the Death of Darion (ADD): A small group of enraged citizens of Darion who seek to avenge the death of Garrett Darion, the last governor of Bar Harbor, who was killed by USSR bombs that were launched in the city.
