You lie still, waiting for the old Bowtruckle to make the first move.  After a long while of staring at each other, it climbs down the branch it was on to meet you.  You are nervous about what it will do so you twitch a bit, while trying to stay as still as you can.  The Bowtruckle leaps lightly to your side and gently places a long, two-fingered hand to your flat, bark-like forehead to see if you are alive.  Should you react to its touch or continue staying still?

Go to chapter 6 if: you jump up and scream in terror.

Go to chapter 7 if: you continue lying down without moving as if you were dead.
