This book was created by me as a handbook of duelling using information from all the lessons covered at Hogwarts in different subjects from the first year to the seventh year at Hogwarts along with my personal tips for duelling to guide others and me and help others and me in my duelling practice and in my duels in the wizarding world. You will not find the rules of engagement in this book, because I believe you already know it, but you will find a lot of basic and advanced information about and for duelling, that will be helpful and useful to you and me.

Duelling Spells- Charms- The Fire-Making Charm

Chapter 52

Effects: - Creates a stream of fire or ignites a target. Effective against frost salamanders and one or two inferi.


Spell Type: - Offensive or Defensive.


Incantation- Incendio, pronounced as in-SEN-dee-oh.


Wand Movement- Curved flick up and down.(as a flame)


Willpower- Low to very high depending on the distance of the target and the difficulty of igniting the target.


Concentration- Less needed for a simple light, more needed for a continuous stream of fire. On the target to be ignited.


Another spell that can be used to produce more fire at once and exterminate a whole horde of inferi is Inflamari.


Effects: - Produces a huge fire.


Spell Type: - Defensive.


Spell Block: -


Incantation- Inflamarae Regio, pronounced as IN-flahm-ARE-eyy REE-gee-oh.


Wand movement- waving your wand in a continual clockwise circular motion over your head. You must keep the wand movement going, as well as maintain continual concentration on this spell, in order for the spell effect to keep happening.


Willpower- High. 


Concentration- High.


Since willpower and concentration both required for this spell are very high, it can be exhausting, and should be used as a last resort.


Counter-Spell for both- The Water Making Charm and the Freezing Spell.


The Water Making Charm


Effects: - Conjures a jet of water. Effective against fire crabs and fire salamanders.


Spell Type: - Defensive.


Spell Block: -


Incantation- Aguamenti, pronounced as ah-gwah-MEN-ti.


Wand Movement- A tilted S-shape, starting on the right, first start with a semicircle open to the bottom and continue with a semicircle open to the top. 


Willpower- Low to very high, determines the force and speed of the water flow.


Concentration- Medium to high, constant concentration is needed for a continuous jet of water, determines the diameter of the jet of water.


The Freezing Spell


Effects: - Freezes deep water into thick ice. Effective against fire salamanders.


Spell Type: - Defensive.


Spell Block: - 


Incantation- Glacius, pronounced as GLAY-see-us.


Wand Movement- Point your wand in the direction you want frozen.


Willpower- The amount of willpower required for this spell determines how long the air will remain frigid. The more willpower you exert, the longer the air will remain frigid.


Concentration- Low, on the effect of the spell, which is freezing the air in front of you.
