My Handbook of Duelling

written by Hiya Debnath

This book was created by me as a handbook of duelling using information from all the lessons covered at Hogwarts in different subjects from the first year to the seventh year at Hogwarts along with my personal tips for duelling to guide others and me and help others and me in my duelling practice and in my duels in the wizarding world. You will not find the rules of engagement in this book, because I believe you already know it, but you will find a lot of basic and advanced information about and for duelling, that will be helpful and useful to you and me.

Duelling Spells- Jinxes- The Knockback Jinx

Chapter 3

Effect: - The Knockback Jinx knocks your opponent backwards making them fall with the force you desire. It feels to the opponent like a push at their chest. Effective against imps and fire- crabs, and other magical creatures.

Jinx type: - Offensive

Spell Block: -

Incantation- Flipendo, pronounced as "fli-PEN-doh" .

Wand Movement- A 'V' shape, that is a downward diagonal to the right then an upward diagonal to the right, and then ending with a swish.

Willpower- Low to moderate.(Determines the force your target will feel)

Concentration- Low.(Visualize how far back you want them to fall)

Please note that jinxes are the first and lowest level of Dark spell. Jinxes usually will not cause much harm and are considered to be more of a minor irritation than a serious problem and are often used as pranks in the wizarding world, though unrecommended. The effects of jinxes will be irritating and jinxes can be used as a distraction, but will not cause any lasting damage. Jinxes can be reversed easily. Since this is the first duelling jinx in this book, I took the liberty to mention this information here.
