After a long day, all the friends meet in their cozy little library corner.

Rose says, "Hey guys, how are you all? Today, i would take you all on a journey to find the Mirror of Erised. I am really curious to know what is my heart's greatest desire. But, as remarked by our late Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, people have gone mad in fron of the mirror. So, we need to be very cautious about it. It sound exciting right? Who's in?"

"Me", Hiya says, "I am in", rapping her hand excitedly on the Hogwarts library table they were sitting around. "I do not want to go mad but it won't hurt to know my heart's greatest desire too, even if it comes at a cost. After all I am a Gryffindor. It's natural that I am feeling like I want to brave this one.", Hiya adds.

"I knew I could always count on you", says Rose, to the amazing, brave and dashing Gryffindor. "So, here is my plan. We will sneak out from our houses after dinner, meet in the Clocktower Courtyard and from there, go search the Room of Requirements. Since we have our maps (You-Know-What) with us, finding the Room of Requirements should be easy. After searching the Room of Requirements, if, we don't find the map, then we will have to come up with another place to investigate." Rose explains her plan to Hiya, Bea and Everline, who were very excited fo the quest. This was the break they all needed from studies.

"Thats an awesome idea, Rose", Hiya says.
After dinner, Rose, Hiya, Bea and Everline reach the Clocktower Courtyard at the decided time. Rose, Hiya and Bea have maps of their own and Rose has borrowed Lacey's map for Everline to use. They do not see the Room of Requirement on the map, but they see some patrolling Professors and immediately hide behind the Clocktower.

Everline whispers, "I know why we cant see it on the map. The Room of Requirement is unplottable." They stay still for some time, and wait for the Professors to go back to their offices then Hiya says, "I believe the Room of Requirement should be found on the seventh floor of Hogwarts across the tapestry of Barnabas the Barmy. That is where it was mentioned in the Harry Potter Books and movies. I believe we need to pass it by three times, thinking of what we need."

"Excellent", Bea says, "Let's go."

The four of them maraud, with the help of their maps to stay clear of other people, like the four original marauders and soon find themselves on the seventh floor of the Hogwarts castle.

"Okay, Wait. What if only some of us find the room and others don't? We don't want to be split among ourselves", Rose says, forever the sound and careful Ravenclaw, "Lets hold hands to keep together, then walk past the place three times holding hands, all willing for a room with the Mirror of Erised in it."

The remaining three of them appreciate Rose's Ravenclaw wit and wisdom and they hold hands walking past the room three times, all of them wishing for a room with the Mirror of Erised in it. Once that is done,they find a doorway that was not there before. They enter it and find themselves in a long room well lit with candles and four different looking mirrors in it. They excitedly rush to the four mirrors, each of them standing in front of the mirror they had imagined in their minds, when imagining the Mirror of Erised that they wanted to find in the Room of Requirement, while walking past the place three times. The mirror Rose had imagined was in front of Rose now, it was long and silver grey in color with a silver shiny frame and was encrusted in blue diadems and sapphires. Bea was in front of a mirror with an ornate gold frame encrusted with rubies. Everline found herself in front of a mirror with a polished cedar wood frame with obsidians stuck on it and ornate leafy designs made of black ebony. Hiya found herself in front of a mirror with a golden frame encrusted in sparkling diamonds. They each wanted to see their heart's desire,but each of them only saw themselves and nothing else. "Well", Rose says, "these are four ordinary mirrors. It seems like the Room of Requirement listened to us granting us mirrors like we wanted and imagined in our minds as none of us actually know what the Mirror of Erised looks like. That ends in a blind lead then."

"Maybe we can conjure the Mirror of Erised with some more concentration, like we conjured these four mirrors. Shall we walk past the room again then", Everline asks.

Bea says, "I don't think the Room of Requirement can conjure magical objects. So, many students have hidden things in this room for years and some have even found them. If we wanted the Mirror of Erised and it was actually in here, we would have found it here. I am pretty sure the Mirror of Erised has been removed from here.".

"I agree with Bea",Hiya says.

"Like I said, if we don't find the mirror, we will have to come up with a new location", saying this, Rose and the others go back to common rooms and agree that that they would think of some locations to search.

Everyone meet up in their cozy little library corner after classes and start discussing locations.

Rose comes up with the Ravenclaw Common Room's bookshelf, Herbology Classroom, Owlery and the corridor adjacent to Headmistress Oshiro's Office. Hiya suggests that everyone should search their common rooms first and then other locations. 

Rose introduces them to Vicky, a fifth year Ravenclaw, who will search the boys dormintory of Ravenclaw. Rose says, "Vichy agreed to search the boys dormitory for us and he is like a brother to me." 

Bea says, "I think I know someone who will help us search the boys dormitory of Gryffindor. I'll ask him if he will help."

Everline replies, "So will I."

They all go to dinner together and decide to sit down together. After dinner, they all go to their common rooms and search for the artefact.

The next day, they meet in the library again and discuss their progress.

Bea speaks up first. She says, "I asked Dibyarup James Potter, our fellow Gryffindor to search the boys dormitories in the Gryffindor Tower. He reported that there was nothing special. Hiya and I searched the Gryffindor common room and found nothing."

Everline replies that she searched the Hufflepuff residences with the help of a fellow Hufflepuff who is a first year to include the Hufflepuff boys dormitories in her search. She says that she found nothing either.

Vicky searched the Ravenclaw boys' dormitories and reported that he found nothing.
Hiya says, "I realised that we haven't searched the Slytherins' dungeons so I asked Lacey to do it for us. Lacey reported with nothing. I also asked Dane Lautner, a Slytherin Transfiguration PA whom I met after my midterm exams, to check the Slytherin boys' dormitories. I also asked him about the mirror but he refused having any knowledge about it and/or it's current whereabouts.

Rose says that she found nothing in the bookshelf or in the Herbology classroom or in the Owlery, but says that she may have found something in the corridor adjacent to the Headmistress's office.
Everyone leans in, excited,to ask what it is. Rose replies, "I found a closed door that would not open or budge no matter what I did. I tried Alohomora on the complex magical lock hanging on the door, tried to break the door down using Reducto and tried to push in with all my strength. It looked like an old unused classroom. Also, it was situated in an old, dilapidated and abandoned part of the corridor nearby the Headmistress's office. I thought y'all may help me get into the old unused room I found."
"I know now", Hiya exclaims. "Didn't former Hogwarts Headmaster Albus Dumbledore remove the Mirror of Erised from the Room of Requirement and take it to a unused classroom where he enchanted it to somehow contain the Philosopher's Stone? The Philosopher's Stone may have been removed from the mirror, but we will find the Mirror of Erised anyway. And I think Rose has already found that unused classroom where Albus Dumbledore last left or rather may have found. Let's cross our fingers and hope for the best."

The four of them sneak out again that night with their Marauder's maps, only Everline with Lacey's map, and after ensuring that the corridors are clear using the map, they maraud to the corridor adjacent to the Headmistress's office and then Rose takes them to the disused classroom she had found. All of them try each of the spells Rose had tried and also the methods that Rose had tried but do not succeed in budging or opening the door.

Finally,Bea comes up with an idea. "Let's all try to push together", she says. They all try hard to push together, leaning against the door, and the door creaks open only slightly for a little while but still does not open up completely, closing back tightly again. "I believe there is something behind the door which is blocking the door from the other side. It could be a plant because if it were an animal, we would hear it making noises, and if it were a non-living object, it would have fallen backwards by now with our force. It appears me to be to be a sentient and magical plant that is resisting us and our entrance and increasing it's resistance with our force, providing hard resistance to us with almost equal force as us everytime we try."

"I agree" ,Rose says. "I know now. We could burn up the door using Incendio. That reminded me of the Devil's Snare and I suddenly remembered Incendio. "Rose says blushing as everyone jumps around her in excitement and joy hugging her, and exclaiming "Brilliant, Rose." "Wonderful", and "Excellent". They all cast the spell Incendio together, with their combined strength of willpower and with concentration, visualizing burning up the door, and manage to produce continuous streams or jets of fire from their individual wands all merging up at the door and the door bursts into flames and burns up in a minute, vanishing from the doorway by burning into a pile of ashes heaped on the floor. They also see a charred Devil's Snare just behind where the door was, burnt up as a result of the flames from their spell and lyimg shrivelled up and burnt and broken in a heap in the corner.

"I feel sorry for the plant" ,Everline says, forever the Herbology fan Hufflepuff, who loves plants and nature. The others feel sorry for Everline and the plant and agree and apologize to her.

Suddenly, Rose trips over something and something catches ahold of her foot and something catches ahold of her right arm and around her waist and belly and she screams in fear. All the other three of them turn towards her and use the spell Lumos instead of Incendio this time,not burning up the plant this time but making it retreat, away from Rose.

Then they light their wands using Lumos and adding the spell modifier Maxima, that is using Lumos Maxima to light a bright light from the spell on their wand. Some of them cannot perform Lumos Maxima as they are in first year and haven't learnt the spell anywhere, so they use Lumos Solem instead and it works the same way, producing a bright light like that from a Muggle torch or flashlight. Then, they advance slowly with their wands alight in their hands, towards the further corner of the room, discovering that the room is full of Devil's Snare plants that shrivel up, moving away from them and feeling threatened, as they hold their wands alight and advance together through the room weaving their way through and snaking across the Devil's Snare's plants planted in different locations dotted all across the room.

Rose says, "Guys, we should find a way to penetrate through these Devil Snares. Also, I can cast Lumos Maxima and try to hold them off from us." Everyone agrees and Rose casts the spell. The light from her wand was so bright that all the Devil Snares just ran and hid behind the pillars of the unused classroom. Rose realises that she has hurt her right arm ans it is usually bleeding. All of them get concerned and ask her to out ans take rest. But she says, " Guys, come on! A littele blood can't hurt me. I am not feeling the pain much. I can manage. Let's just search this room and quickly get out. Then, maybe I'll go to the Hospital Wing." After hearing Rose, they all get back searching. 

Suddenly, Everline sees a shiny thing, which appears to be reflecting all the light that it was getting from their wands.

Hiya jumps with joy saying, "Yay! We found the fabled Mirror Of Erised." 

After her joyous jump, they begin to investigate the mirror. They all decide to see in it one by one. They really had found The Mirror of Erised.

As the four of them close in on the mirror, Hiya accidentally trips over Rose's foot and touches the frame of the mirror. Her hand is now dusty and black covered with the dust settled on the mirror frame over ages. The unsettling and falling dust also causes them to cough and causes some cobwebs to dislodge from the roof of the dusty old unused classroom. Some spiders flee from the scene and Hiya uses her wand to make an S shaped wand movement and says "Scourgify" pronouncing it as "SKUR-ji-fy", simultaneously concentrating on cleaning the frame of the mirror and the mirror itself, and willing for it to happen. The dust settled for years and years clears up from the mirror's frame and the mirror itself becomes clearer and shinier. They can now clearly see the ornate mirror and the gold frame of the mirror inscribed with an inscription reading "Erised stra ehru oyt ube cafru oyt on wohsi".

The inscription confuses all of them until Rose, the Ravenclaw, reads it backwards for them reading it as "I show not your face but your hearts desire."

"Well, I always knew that Erised was desire spelled backwards", Hiya says as simultaneously Bea says "Ouch" hitting her foot on something, while they clap for Rose and look down to see the clawed feet of the mirror.

Bea had unconsciously taken a step towards the mirror and hit her foot against it. She then looked into the mirror and a mixture of pride and happiness passed through her face. The remaining three of them look at her and shake her until she comes out of a trance-like state and says, "I saw myself. Holding the Quidditch house cup surrounded by fans and then the image changed into me playing in the Quidditch stadium as part of the Holyhead Harpies team being its captain and being cheered on by the crowd and thousands of fans at the British and Irish Quidditch league."

Bea then comes back to her senses and to the present, and steps aside from the mirror to let the others see.

Hiya steps forward and looks in the mirror. "Oh. I hope this will not make me go mad", Hiya says, closing her eyes and looking down at the floor.

Rose says, "Hey, Hiya, you need to stop worrying about it. It will only drive you mad if you want something so bad that you don't care about anything else and can go to any lengths even to the length of harming other people without any limits, to get your desire. That is when it is harmful, and in that case when you see yourself in the mirror achieving that thing you want so much, it drives you mad and you go crazy. But if you only want your desire and balance it with love for others, it will not drive you mad." Hiya nods, hugs Rose,and moves forward a step.

She opens her eyes and looks in the mirror. She sees herself in the mirror surrounded by her friends, topping school at Hogwarts and dating someone. She tells everything that she sees to Rose, leaving out the name of the person who she sees herself dating.

Then Everline decides to go and see what the mirror has in store for her. She sees herself holding many magical plants and figures that she has become the Herbology Professor at Hogwarts. She becomes really happy about it.

When it was Rose's turn, she went to the mirror and stood there. She saw herself surrounded by her deceased grandfather, grandmother, father, mother, aunt, cousin. She also sees her uncle, who is still alive and also sees Vicky, the fifth year Ravenclaw. She gets emotional and tears start falling down her cheecks. Hiya hugs her and tries to sooth her by saying, "Hey, Rose. Calm down. Even though your family is not there with you, but we all there and we are your family."

To this, Rose says, "Thanks Hiya. I am so happy that I have friends like you all, who treat me like their family. But the only thing that is bothering me is why did I see Vicky along with my family? Is he a relative of mine?"

Everline suggests, "You should go talk to him once. Maybe, it will help you clear all the misconceptions you have about his relation with your family."

Rose replies, "Yeah, thanks Everline. After we return. I'll ask him to meet me in the Courtyard."

The four of them then take one last look at the infamous magical object, the Mirror of Erised, and leave the Room of Requirement. "We need to go to the Potions classroom in the dungeon, to get Essence of Dittany for Rose, or to the Hospital Wing." Hiya says as soon as they come out of the Room of Requirement.

"I don't think we should go to the Potions dungeon. What if Professor Draekon is in there, brewing potions? He will catch us and ask us what mischief we have been upto and we may get detention for breaking curfew. And with all this excitement and more studies to do, I do not think I have the energy to handle detention with Professor Draekon. I also do not want to go to the Hospital Wing as they too will ask how I cut myself, and then we will have to tell what happened and we may land in detention", says Rose.

"We are willing to do this for you Rose. We will bare detention for you. Even if Professor Draekon catches us in the potions dungeon, we will take detention for as long as he wants but we will not return without the potion, Essence of Dittany, for you", says Everline.

Hiya agrees and says, "Yeah,of course. We will do it for you, Rose. I will take detention on your behalf for your part, and we will all do our own detention for you as well. And I think there is a way, we can check Professor Draekon in the Marauder's Map and see if he is there, then we can go,when he is not there. That way, we can get the Essence of Dittany without detention."

"Well, that's all and good." Everline says, "But Rose's arm is still bleeding profusely. We cannot wait for it to bleed Rose pale until we lay our hands on Essence of Dittany. I am going to do something about it. Though I am not good at this spell, I may try." Everline moves her wand in an incomplete circle open at the top and says "Episkey (eh-PIS-kee", sealing Rose's wound partially, stopping the bleeding, and leaving only a faint breach of skin like a faint line with no blood coming from it, the forever caring Hufflepuff.

"There, that's done. I couldn't do more than that because I couldn't put enough willpower into the spell to seal the wound completely. I need to practise on my spells more." Bea pats Everline on the back and Hiya says, "Very good. Essence of Dittany will do the rest. How do you feel,Rose?".
"Much better" ,Rose says, "Let's go get the Essence of Dittany. I am glad to have such caring and wonderful friends", beaming with a smile on her face and adding, "I am lucky."

Then, they all look at the Marauder's Map and find that Professor Draekon is in his office, so the Potions dungeon is clear.

"All clear." Bea says, "On the route, Marauders. Let's move forward, let's go y'all."

"On the way", Hiya says, and the four of them head towards the potions dungeon. There, they find no one but the dungeon is dark and cold. Hiya casts the Warming Spell pointing the wand at everyone in turns to keep them warm, and the other light their wands using Lumos after Bea says, "Wands alight, Lumos" to all of them. "I need to practise this spell for class", Hiya says, "I have to keep my focus in this spell to learn concentration using the Warming spell as told in class. You will keep your wands lit with Lumos.".

"Sure Hiya, you can do that", Rose says, " Your warming spell is a great help anyway. It's keeping us warm in this cold dungeon.".

Hiya nods and holds the spell, and the remaining three of them hold their wands alight, while the four of them move towards the Potions classroom's healing cabinets and find the bottle of Essence of Dittany. Bea unstoppers it and Everline gently pours three drops of it onto Rose's arm on the cut after Bea hands it over to her, while Bea holds Rose's arm. The wound begins to seal completely and first turns into an old aged scar and emits a green smoke after which it appears as if the wound had never been there, the skin is completely normal and smooth over Rose's arm with no scars on it."

"Thankyou y'all", Rose says," for braving this for me" and hugs them all in joy. They hug her back in joy too. Then, they return the bottle of Essence of Dittany, back to it's rightful place and are about to leave the Potions dungeon when they hear a sudden noise and are worried that Professor Draekon may have come and seen them. But they turn around and see nobody so they use the light of their wands to search for what caused the noise and discover that it was a niffler.

"I didn't know there were nifflers in the Potions dungeon", Hiya says and laughs. " Who knows?Maybe Professor Draekon brews gold in here at night." Bea says and the four of them laugh heartily together. They then leave the Potions dungeon cautiously and using the map to steer clear of danger or patrolling Professors, they move towards the Clocktower Courtyard where they grab a breath of air. Then,they suddenly see Vicky in the Clocktower Courtyard, standing behind a fountain and staring at the sky, lost in deep thought. Rose spots him first and they decide to leave Rose alone with Vicky there to help Rose find her answers to what she saw in the Mirror of Erised about Vicky being part of her family.

The remaining three of them head back to their dormitories to sleep while Rose stays back saying that she will talk to Vicky and then return to her dorm later. She moves towards Vicky and joins him under the starlit sky.

Rose greets Vicky and updates about the quest. She also tells him what she see saw in the mirror. She asks him, "Are you a relative of mine?"

To this, Vicky answers, "Yes, Rose, I am your step-brother. I was born to Jacob Peterson and Amelia Watson. It was before dad married your mom, Lily. Since then, I never saw him, but I met our uncle Timothy once, who told me about the family's death and you, and asked me to look after you, while you are at Hogwarts."

Rose asks, "Why didn't he or you tell me this before? You both should have told me. I already lost the whole family except for uncle and you. You should have told me about it."

Vicky answers, "Sorry. It was for your own safety. You know that our parents were killed by the members of 'G'. I couln't risk losing you, too."

Hearing this, Rose hugs Vicky and apologizes to Vicky. They both sit staring at the amazing night sky, thus, officially ending this quest.
