Rudolphus Lestrange was a pureblood wizard and a member of the pureblood Lestrange family. He joined the Death Eaters along with his brother Rabestan and participated in the first war of wizards. The Lestranges were among Lord Voldemort's most loyal and trusted servants, and along with Barty Crouch Jr., were the only ones who looked after him after his first fall.

 After Voldemort was defeated by Harry Potter when Harry had no baby, Rudolphus and his wife Bellatrix, along with Rabastan and Barty Crouch Jr. participated in the torture and permanent incapacitation of Alice and Frank Longbottom and were sentenced to life imprisonment in Azkaban.

 About fourteen years later, Rudolphus escaped with a group of other Death Eaters and participated in several battles of the Second Wizarding War, including the Battle of the Chamber of Secrets and the Battle of the Seven Potters. After the final defeat of Lord Voldemort, Rudolphus was once again imprisoned in Azkaban.

 In 2020, he once again escaped from Azkaban and sought out Voldemort and Bellatrix's illegitimate daughter, Delphine, informing her of her destiny and heritage.
