regulus black

Chapter 10

Regulus Arcturus Black (1961-1979) was an English pureblood wizard and a member of the noble House of Black. He was born to Orion and Walburga Black and a younger brother of Sirius Black.

He attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1972 and was sorted into Slytherin House. Regulus became a Death Eater in his youth, but fled when he realized what Lord Voldemort was doing to achieve his goals. Regulus also learned of one of Voldemort's Horcruxes and decided to destroy it. He was killed in 1979 after obtaining Salazar Slytherin's locket.

Pakshan, were convinced that being black made you practically royalty... my stupid brother, soft enough to believe them... this is him. As I was constantly reminded, he was younger than me and a much better boy.

Sirius Black in memory of his brother

Regulus was born in 1961 into a wealthy black pureblood family as the youngest son of Orion and Walburga Black and the younger brother of Sirius Black. It is assumed that he was named after his great uncle, also named Regulus, and his paternal grandfather, Arcturus. Relatives include Bellatrix Lestrange, a Death Eater loyal to Lord Voldemort, Andromeda Tonks, who married a Muggle mother and was subsequently disowned by the family, and Narcissa Malfoy, who married the Death Eater Lucius Malfoy.

Regulus' parents saw him as very different from his older brother Sirius Black. Although Sirius was the eldest son and heir, unlike Regulus, he did not follow the black family traditions at all. Their parents disapproved of this, and Sirius was later sorted into Gryffindor house by attending Hogwarts, which put an even greater strain on his relationships with the rest of the family.

Following this, Sirius left home at the age of sixteen and was subsequently disowned by his parents, like Andromeda Tonks, and burned from the family tapestry a few years earlier. On the other hand, Regulus was admired by his parents for being loyal to his family and keeping their traditions. Unlike Sirius, Regulus was sorted into Slytherin and became a member of his house's Quidditch team. Years later, Harry Potter discovered a photo of Tim Regulus that showed him playing the role of Seeker, based on the chair. He attended Hogwarts from about 1972 to 1979.

 Life as a Death Eater

They are all about Voldemort. Regulus seems to have been a fan of the Death Eaters for a few years before joining the...

Regulus admired Lord Voldemort from a young age and aspired to become a Death Eater later in life. Regulus had pictures and articles about the Dark Lord and his followers clipped from the Daily Prophet, which hung in his bedroom near his family's poster board. Regulus received his Dark Mark around the age of sixteen, which his family approved of because Voldemort was trying to achieve pureblood superiority over other wizards and muggles. Although his parents were never Death Eaters themselves, they agreed with many of Lord Voldemort's own beliefs.

After becoming a Death Eater, Regulus began to abandon Lord Voldemort, in part because his master mistreated and attempted to kill Kreacher, the loyal elf of the Black family, while setting up security measures for one of his Horcruxes. had it

He was murdered by Voldemort. Or on Voldemort's orders, most likely. I doubt Regulus was important enough to be personally killed by Voldemort. He got all the way in, then panicked at what was being asked of him and tried to back out. Well, you don't just hand in your resignation to Voldemort. It's a lifetime of service or death.

In 1979, Regulus had doubts about serving as a Death Eater, but was reluctant to act against the Death Eaters and Voldemort. One day, Voldemort asked Regulus to use his house elf, Kreacher and Regulus eagerly agreed as he wanted to please his master. Voldemort used Kreacher to test the defenses around his locked Horcrux and left him to die afterwards. Kreacher managed to escape using the magic of the elven house and told Regulus what had happened. Regulus realized that the lock was a Horcrux and was the reason for Voldemort's immortality.

This was the decisive factor in the escape of Regulus. He created a duplicate of the lock and left a note inside for Voldemort to find, expecting him to investigate the Horcrux in the future, and then instructed Kreacher to take him to where the real lock was hidden. Kreacher guided Regulus behind the defensive walls of the cave. On an island with a potion pool containing a lock, Regulus ordered Kreacher to remove the lock and replace it with a fake potion when the potion was gone, then escape without him and find a way to destroy the Horcrux. Regulus himself drank the potion and was dragged to his death by the Inferi when he tried to fetch water from the lake to quench his thirst. Kreacher obeyed his master's final order and changed the locks before escaping. However, despite his best efforts, he was unable to destroy the Horcrux.

Regulus' father, Orion, also died in 1979.
