Lily Dumbledore

written by Lily Dumbledore

This is my story as a girl who had a lot to live up to, my uncle being the famous Albus Dumbledore. Written by me and my best friend Davis (who isn't supposed to be writing in it but sometimes I allow him to take over a few chapters in which case it will be clear that he's the narrator.)

The dream

Chapter 6

Purple, yellow, red streaks of light. This fight has been going for too long. How could such clos friends turn on each other like that? I had to stop them now, for all their sakes...and mine. I stood up from behind the boulder, I ran towards them. Suddenly two blinding green flashes errupted from their wands, and as the curses met, they exploded, and...

I woke up sweating and shaking. I breathed in deeply to calm myself, and started to relax as I felt the warm blankets around me. I was safe, in my bed, in my dormitory, in the Ravenclaw tower. I lay back down and closed my eyes, only to open them again quickly. The green flashes, the noise of the explosion, it filled my ears and my sight.

Hold up, you're probably wondering what's going on right now. Well, the thing is, lately I've been having this recurring dream, the exact same one with the same setting and people, but I was never less afraid. By now I'd recognized ost of the people in my dream: I'd identifiedmy father, my uncle and based on old photographs in magazines, Gellert Grindelwald. But they all seemed so much younger, likethis was something that had happened before. I'd considered sending an owl to my father to ask him about it, but when it comes to Grindelwald, he was never too keen to share anything. Nor was my uncle for that matter. Considering what happened between them after I was born, it's no suprise. But I have a feeling that this happened before that. Like this was more ancient, more deep...

I shook my head, trying to rid myself of these thoughts. The sky was getting lighter outside. The great hall would be open for breakfast soon. I got dressed and met up with Davis in the common room.

"Hey, you all right? You look like you were eaten by the giant squid and then thrown up by it. And then hit repeatedly by the Whomping Willow, and then..."

"Ok Davis that's enough thanks."

"You ok?" he asked, looking concerned. "You usually laugh at my jokes. You said you liked my humour."

(I do not. Ok maybe I do.)

"I'm fine, honest. I just had a bad dream. C'mon, let's go and catch breakfast." He started walking towards the door.

"You don't catch breakfast, you eat it", I grumbled, but followed him anyway.

Yep, my usual morning: harassed by Davis' lame jokes ("That's not very fair!" Shut up Davis you're not supposed to be writing instead of me), and dragged off to breakfast.
