How to guess what others are thinking at the moment

Sometimes we wish we could read other people’s minds. We want to comfort them if they’re sad, celebrate with them if they’re happy, or listen to their problems if they’re angry or anxious! Here is a book about certain body movements most people make when they’re thinking about certain things.

Hands

When you're having a conversation, what are your friend's hands doing? Here are some signs that you might notice!

  • Hands in their pockets: They are lying, or finding the topic hard to follow.

  • Their hand is squeezed lightly, or opened: They are pretty relaxed. Especially if their hand is opened, that could mean that they are comfortable around you.

  • They are tapping the table : They are a little irritated and/or annoyed.

  • Their hands are moving widely: They are trying to tell you some information and are using their full brain power.

  • Their hands are squeezed tightly on the table/their knees: It might be a conversation they are not comfortable with talking about...

  • They are messing around with something: They are bored, or are irritated with something.
