The Deal

Chapter 4

Pip looked at Izma, confused. "But... didn't you literally just say...?" Izma smiled a bit. "I said as of current. I didn't say there was no way back at all." He strided over to one of the workbenches and shoved a bunch of tools to the ground with a metalic clatter. Under those tools was a blueprint, which Izma smoothed out  and gestered to. "Before I was... stranded... I had been working on plans for an easy and affordable method of transportation to the Valhalla 7. Most of my attempts were fruitless, however I did make one that worked. Unforchinatly, due to how it was used, the ship was destroyed by Valhalla to prevent another breach."

Pip worked his way over to the workbench where Izma was standing to get a better look at the blueprints he was refrencing. When he got op close, he noticed that the way up was a sort of crecent-shaped vacume-cealed hover contraption, ment to comfortably seat 12 people. "It would take me a while to redesign it to acomidate for Earthan limitations, as well as to actually build it, however once its compleat it should be an easy way to space. Thoughts?" Pip stared at the blueprints, contemplating. "Well... you would definatly have to dumb it down. The mechanics would probobly look a lot more bulky, and you would probobly have to lose the windows entirly, or at least make them smaller... hmm..."

Izma, who had been observing the time, chose this time to pipe up. "Say, I have an idea. It's getting late, and you said you have friends waiting up on you, right?" Pip's head snapped up, then whipped to the door. Sure enough, the evening sun could be seen through the frame, glowing orange. His stomatch turned as he realized that it had been well over the time he had said he would meet back up with his friends. They were probobly tearing up the town looking for him. "Oh shoot! I compleatly forgot! My friends, they are probobly worried sick-" Izma raised his hands reassuringly. "Tell you what. You know where to find me. If you come back, say, two days from now at high noon, I'll be here and we can talk more on this?" Pip switched from releived to unsure. "I don't mean to be rude, but... what exactly are you getting out of this? I dont have many materials, and there's no way your'e planning to do this for free."

Izma scratched his chin, looking off. "You seem to have a better grasp of earthan technology than I do. I could use that in the shop. Atticus is wonderful, however he isn't that good with tech. If I had you working with me, I could get enough supplies to not only live comfortably, but also be able to obtain the materials needed to fix my wings AND build you a ship to valhalla, or at least a comunications system to their travel agency. For me, thats a win-win. What about you?" Pip looked off, contemplaiting. "I'm... not entirly sure. It sounds like a good plan, but I would need to think it over, if thats okay?" Izma nodded in understanding. "Of course. Think it over, and if you have any questions you can ask me in two days at high noon. sound good?" Pip perked up, excited. "Yes sir! Thank you!" and ran for the door. A sharp whistle stopped pip in his tracks.

"Hey kid, forgetting something?" Izma held out a hand expectantly. Pip looked at him, confused. "My staff?" "OH YEAH," Pip took up the staff, which he had slung over his shoulder for the time, and handed it to Izma. "Thanks, now run off to your friends!" And with that, Pip was gone.

Pip dashed through crowdes of people, pushing his way through a sea of limbs. How hadc he been so careless? surely his friends were worried sick. He rounded a corner and faceplanted into some poor soal. "Sorry, I'm so sorry-" Pip started, before noticing a light-pink hijab and long, angled face. "RAMMA!" "PIP!! There you are!! Where have you been?!" She stood quickly, brushing off her dress and taking pips face in her hands, examining him for injory. "Were you hurt? Did you find anything? What happened?!" Pip took her hands, laughing. "I'm fine, Ramma! Not hurt, not anything! Buuut guess who I found?!" Her eyes widened in disbeleif. "Absolutly not. No way. I don't beleive you." Pip beamed with excitement. "Well you better start beleiving, because I totally found him!" Ramma smiled big and hugged Pip. "Thats fantastic! wonderful! What did you learn? Was he kind? Or was he crule and biggoted like Ammon says?" "He didn't seem all that crule, though he gave me a mean look when I found out who he was. Guess I cant blame him, though. We had just been attacked by a group of Half Skulls-"

Ramma stopped him. "Hold up. You mean to tell me you got in a fight with some of Oleander's men? And you didn't think to CALL FOR HELP?" "Well it wasn't that simple, see??" Ramma led the way back to the buggies. "Then help me understand."

So on the walk back, Pip explained the entire day, starting with the Half-Skull encounter and ending with the Valhallie's offer. By the time he wrapped up, They had rounded the corner to where the carts had been hidden. There were all his friends, standing around carts murmering to themselves. Ramma cleared her throat, and everyone turned to see Pip. Everyones worried faces melted to relief, and they all rushed over. Ammon picked Pip up and hugged him, yelling things like "NEVER DO THAT AGAIN!" While Ethan clapped Pip on the back and demanded to know where he had been. Marly just stood back, beaming with her hands clasped.
