Muggle Tv Series Review - The Tudors
Chapter 16
-Muggle Television Series Review-
Name: The Tudors (2007-2010)
Category: Historical/Costume Drama
Overview:
This historical drama features England's splendid Renaissance dynasty under King Henry VIII, telling the story of one of the most famous kings in history as he makes his may through six wives during the course of the series. Most of it is historically accurate and features many historical happenings, including the creation of the protestant church and the fall of Catholicism in England when Henry divorces his first wife and marries seductress Anne Boleyn. The series also features Henry's friend and his sister Margaret's true love Charles Brandon, the Habsburg ambassadors, greedy and power-hungry schemers, their incidental victims and composer Thomas Tallis, making it a great watch for Tudor enthusiasts and those are ignorant of the history alike.
Characters:
The series does a brilliant job in portraying the famous historical figures and their transitions through life, giving you an interesting inside and different look at King Henry, Anne Boleyn and other characters. The writing keeps you on edge even if you are a Tudor enthusiast as the series takes different routes with many of the characters and the actors do well in getting those different routes across. You discover a soft side to the violent King Henry, see Jane Seymour portrayed as an innocent and discover there is a lot more to Anne Boleyn than you thought there was.
