Description: An unknown curse that causes damage capable of killing with enough power.
Seen/Mentioned: Used twice by Antonin Dolohoff in the Battle of the Bureau of Secrets. Dolohoff was under a silencing spell and thus weakened the effect of the curse, saving Hermione from death but incapacitating her and requiring her to take ten potions a day for a while.

Description: Reveals secret messages written in invisible ink or any other secret sign. It also works against hidden charms
Seen/Mentioned: Used in 1993 by Hermione Granger to reveal any hidden entries in the diary.
Etymology: Latin apparere, meaning "to appear"; -ium and -cium are the endings of Latin common nouns.

Description: Reveals traces of magic, including footprints and trail markings.
Seen/Mentioned: Newton Scamander used it to search for Porpentina Goldstein.

Description: Magically transports the caster instantly to another location. A destination is a destination that the primary user has already traveled to or seen. It can be used to show multiple people at once if you hug each other. No spells required.
