Type: Charm
Pronounced: ah-REST-oh mo-MEN-tum
Description: Slows down a moving target. Can be used on multiple targets as well as on the caster itself. It was invented in 1711 by Daisy Penifold for use in quaffles in Quidditch.
Seen/Mentioned: Used by Dumbledore to save one of his students from falling in 1993. Hermione Granger used it to avoid a fatal fall in 1998.
