The Sorting Hat
Chapter 5
It was sorting time, how did everyone know this, exactly? Because Professor McGonnagall had to say it ten times as everyone kept on talking and babbling, at the last one almost everyone was quiet, and almost everyone because Padfoot and Prongs could never stop talking. They got startled as Professor McGonagall yelled out, so everyone could hear, "Mr Black and Mr Potter, would you like to share what your talking about to us?" They were freaked out by this, because, in front of her they never showed any sign of their name. But after a while they remembered it was her signature on the letter, so she would naturally know.
Once everyone was quiet, Professor McGonagall led everyone into the great hall in front of the tables. The hat started to move, which everyone was wondering why. But after a few seconds, the YT started talking and mumbling stuff like "More students, this song is gonna be a long one...."
Everyone wondered, what song? But they stopped at once when the ghost started gathering instruments and playing to a song, and they listened as the hat sang their song. It opened its mouth and started.

He didn't know what was going on. And then, the seventh years came up and sang another song, this made the group groan. The seventh years looked tired and as if they didn't want to do this, but they started and sang.
Hogwarts, Hogwarts, Hoggy Warty Hogwarts,
Teach us something please,
Whether we be old and bald,
Or young with scabby knees,
Our heads could do with filling,
With some interesting stuff,
For now they're bare and full of air,
Dead flies and bits of fluff,
So teach us things worth knowing,
Bring back what we've forgot,
Just do your best, we'll do the rest,
And learn until our brains all rot
This was very familiar to Padfoot and Prongs, as pure bloods, but Moony and Wormtail took a while to figure out it was the school song. Professor Dumbledore had asked everyone for silence, as the sorting was about to start.
The group waited patiently for their turns as "Evans, Lily!" was sorted into Gryfinndor and "Snape, Severus!" became a Slytherin.
The heard a couple of other names, until it finally came to "Lupin, Remus!" and the group was hoping they would be sorted into Gryfinndor with their friend. Next came "Pettigrew, Peter!" as a Gryfinndor, and another couple of names, until Padfoot and Prongs were the only ones left, the tables were anxious to see who'd be apart of their house, and then came "Black, Sirius!" as a Gryfinndor. Prongs was alone.
"Potter, James!" He walked up to the hat and wore It was the sorting hat mumbled random stuff, which were most likely in a different language, as he couldn't understand. And finally, the hat yelled out "GRYFFINOR!"
The Gryfinndor table roared with joy, and the four friends sat together as they ate. Peter was practically swallowing the drumsticks whole, the way he ate it so fast. Remus hesitated, but Sirius assured him none was wolf, though the group wondered why that would be important.
