The Riders
Princess Lorelei is not your average princess. She wears gowns and has manners- and rides dragons. On her eighteenth birthday, when she chooses her betrothed, she is kidnapped and held prisoner by the Green Dragon, their rival kingdom. About to be forced into a marriage that will lead to destructive war, she stumbles upon a book holding a legend of the first ever Rider Dragon. If Lorelei can find the dragon before the war, she can save her kingdom and win her freedom. But how can she find something that doesn't exist to save a kingdom that may not exist much longer?

Silence. Cold, damp silence. His lungs screaming for air. He reaches up once more, and catches on a rock. He pulls himself up, gasping. He rolls himself from the water and lies in the cool sand like a beached whale. After a long time, he sits up and yawns. He opens his wings, allowing them to stretch and dry. The salt of the water is crusted in his hair, and all over the feathers of his wings. He sighs, and then pulls himself into a standing position. He grows dizzy, and his head spins. He flaps his stiff wings, and then rises into the sky. His stomach rumbles. First, to eat. And then, REVENGE.
