Writer'S Advice And Book Reviews

Chapter 20

-Writer's Advice and Book Reviews-

WRITER'S ADVICE:

Always Plan in Advance

(Lilia Le Fay)

When writing a fanfiction you can get away with less planning, but if
you really want to make it a good one, you have to have some sense of where the
story is going to go. You will also need to plan out plotlines.

Now this may sound dull and boring, but I and others have found that it
not only prevents you from giving up on the book when you are lost to where
it'll go next, but also makes it easier to write. By planning the story, you
can also slow down chapter pace.

The best way to lay out plot lines, I have found, is in two steps.
First, assemble the main plot points. Then, write down what's going to happen
in each chapter; i.e.

‘Chapter Twelve - Mark
discovers Helena is a witch and says he never wants to see her again.’

By making the content that precise, you will find it very much easier to
get a good storyline. In my opinion, a book with no outlined plan, slight or
detailed, will be finished. So, take this advice and use it in your writing!

BOOK REVIEWS:

Newest Book in the Hogwarts Library:

Book Chosen: Monster
(Marauders Era)

Author: Cayla
Wilderman

(Rated by Luna Silverprint)

This
book is off to a great start. I can’t wait for another update soon! The first
chapter already shows that it will provide an interesting view into Remus
Lupin’s life, particularly involving his problems with his werewolf side. ★★★★

Teenage Muggle Fiction:

Book Chosen: The
Seer and the Sword

Author: Heather Dixon

(Rated by Luna Silverprint)

This book is absolutely amazing. It can be a little slow at times, but very surprising. It takes place in sort of a medieval time period in a made-up world. There’s also a second book called The Healer's Keep that’s just as good.★★★★

Completed Book in the Hogwarts Library:

Book Chosen:
CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE – THE YOUNG HERBOLOGIST

Author: Alexis
Constance Gulliory

(Rated by Luna Silverprint)

This is a great book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It’s really hard to write a choose your own adventure, but Guillory does a fantastic job. I highly recommend this book for the aspiring Herbologists among us or just anyone who wants a bit of fun!★★★★½
