My first year notes

written by Tzenola Khant

Here I will leave my notes taken during the first course, I will gradually upload the grades of the subjects, as I write them. They are only summaries, not a substitute for the teacher's lessons.

ASTR-101 WEEK I

Chapter 8

Astronomy is the study of the universe. Both muggles and wizards consider topics such as the observation of celestial bodies, theorize about how objects in outer space have formed, and deduce the chemical composition of these bodies as part of astronomy.

Muggle and magical approaches to astronomy mixed a lot, especially before the International Statute of Secrecy.

The obvious advantage of the magical approach is magic. In the case of astrology, the study of how events in outer space influence events for people on Earth, is an important subfield of astronomy.

Magic tends to interfere with the technology they use for much of their research. Many wizards also reject non-magical science and technology.

Magical astronomers excel in applied astronomy.

Astronomy is truly a subject that connects many magical fields of study. The walls that separate the disciplines from one another are restrictive, and the sooner they are broken down, the sooner we can appreciate magical learning as a whole.
