Monster (Marauders Era)
Rachel Wagner doesn't want to have anything to do with the Marauders. She wants to stay the quiet, ignored girl that she was since she started school.
But when she and Remus Lupin begin studying together at the library every night, she wonders if all the Marauders are as bad as Sirius and James.
Meanwhile, a brilliant and powerful wizard named Tom Riddle is gaining followers all the time. He is looking for excellent wizards all around England to carry out his duties. He decides to look at Hogwarts first, disguising himself as a temporary Herbology teacher. Few students even know about Tom Riddle's growing power, and not many of them are willing to warn others about “Professor Delrid.” Luckily, one of them happens to be Remus John Lupin, who is willing to tell Dumbledore about this either brilliant or monstrous wizard. But what happens when Rachel finds out about Remus's “furry little problem,” and Rachel decides to confide in Professor Delrid?

Chapter Twenty-Five - Rachel
Chapter 26
I woke up feeling dizzy. Sitting up, I found that I was in the hospital wing, and Remus was sitting in the plastic chair beside me, sleeping.
I glanced at the clock. It read 5:00 AM. How long have I been here?
A sharp pain burst through my head. I winced and laid back down. Closing my eyes, I was able to doze off.

"Rachel," a soft voice said quietly. "We have class soon." I looked up to see light coming through the curtains, and Remus looking over me, concerned.
"Morning," I croaked, "when do we have class?"
"In twenty minutes. You've got time." he took my hand from under the sheets and held it tightly. Leaning in, he kissed me gently, slowly. After a bit, we broke away.
"Do you want me to help you?" Remus asked, stroking my hair. I shook my head.
"No, I think I'll be fine. I'll get up in - one -
second." I said, sitting up on the bed again.
"I don't think you should go to Herbology today. Or any classes, for that matter," he said after a minute. I stared at him incredulously.
"Remus, I got zeros on every subject because I skipped class. I can't afford to do it again," I said, getting out of bed. Remus put a hand on waist, keeping me from moving.
"I think you should. I'll do your notes. And your homework, for that matter," I thought about it. Maybe another day off would help me mentally. After a minute, I finally nodded.
"Okay, you got me. Only this time," I said, giving Remus a look. He smiled a little and squeezed my hand.
"Alright. See you at lunch," he said and began to walk away.
I wished I had stopped him.
Maybe everything would be okay if I had.
