Siblings - A Blessing Or A Curse

Chapter 2

Lizzie slumped down on a chair at the dinner table. It was so sickening being there most of her family were distracted somehow texting, listening to music, watching the TV or practicing spells to flip someone upside down. Lizzie couldn't help feeling, sitting at the end of the long table, like she didn't belong there. Sat up straight at the other end of the table was her step-dad Michael Baxter, who always thought that Lizzie was up to something. Maybe that's why he caught her so quickly. Her step dad was a banker and one of those proper types ,always wearing a top hat a monocle, a suit and his jet black hair neatly combed but the worst thing of all was that he was dead against magic. Her real dad Bernard Fox,was so much better he was nice and kind a magical artist and he often painted pictures for his children not that many of them lasted when he disappeared, her step-dad threw them out but she managed to keep a small one of two girls standing outside a forest. She often gazed at it before she went to sleep and dreamed of her dad and that he was still here. Next to her step-dad at the table on the left was her mother ,Evelyn, and she was extremely beautiful with golden hair and shining emerald eyes. She was the owner of Honeydukes in Diagon Alley and would bring home a sweet or two for each of her children. Most of the time though she was shy and weak and couldn't stand up for herself against her husband. On the other side of her step-dad was her older brother Dennis who had blonde shaggy hair and was very in to quidditch. You could tell this even if you didn't know him because he always wore t-shirts or trousers advertising his favourite team Ireland. Opposite him was her two older sister twins Holly and Molly, who were typical teenage girls discussing what to wear, gossiping about boys and so on. Holly and Molly were inseparable, they had the same short brown hair with pink and purple highlights in fact there was only one way you could tell them apart. Molly had a small birthmark on her right cheek. Next to them, was her brother Harold, a boy who always stayed in his room messing about with gadgets, computers and stuff that Lizzie couldn't be bothered with. Harold had never spoken a word in his life and they were still waiting for his first words even though he was 9 years old. Opposite him on the table was Theodore, who was 6 years old. He was a massive prankster ,putting blasted ended skrewts in the hall, and lots of other stuff. His room was practically overflowing with muggle pranks and wizarding pranks. Lastly, sitting on Evelyn's lap, was Alice a 2 year old baby who Lizzie often had to hold. Sometimes it was nice but not when Alice threw up on her or something else. "Ahem! I have a important announcement..." Lizzie's step-dad boomed.
