As I walked I thought “Where next?” The first place I thought of was the palace I had seen earlier. I looked up and in the distance I saw it again. I started heading toward the palace.

A few hours later I got to the doors of the palace. They were beautiful! I walked up to the huge sugar doors and knocked. (hoping the doors would not shatter.) The doors opened almost immediately and the gummy bear that had opened the door said, “Welcome to the Sugar Palace. I shall now take you to King and Queen Candy Cane. Follow me.” A few moments later we arrived at a pair of huge doors made of brown sugar. A sign next to the doors said The Throne Room. The gummy bear knocked on the doors and a deep voice said,

“Enter,” The doors opened and the gummy bear led me through to a beautiful room glittering with sugar. In the back of the room sat the King and Queen. The King was wearing long red robes and was holding a candy cane. The Queen was wearing a long red dress with white stripes so she looked like was a candy cane herself. She probably was. “Who are you?” asked King Candy Cane.

“Um, I’m Lily,” I said.

“Welcome to Sugar Palace, Lily,” said the King.

“We have a problem in the next town over. Are you willing to help?” asked Queen Candy Cane.

“Ummmmmm, I guess I’ll do it. But I would like to know what the problem is first,” I replied.

The King said, “Of course we will tell you. It is a mega gummy snake, and we would like you to deal with it.”
