Creature Journal #3
Today, I am journaling about Kneazles. I find them interesting because they are such good judges of character and because Kneazle breeding must present unique issues when it comes to selling the kittens. It would be interesting to know exactly how a Kneazle judges character. Since they can use it to guard homes, the judgement must be very quick and require little to no contact with the human they are encountering. I would be curious to know if the judgement was based on smell, sight, or an innate sixth sense. For Kneazle breeders, selling the kittens must be a rather taxing process. You can't just advertise pictures of the kittens, get buyers, and send them off. Since the Kneazle must like the owner, there must be a step of introducing the Kneazle to the buyer and hoping they get along. In the case of a buyer not getting along with a Kneazle, I wonder if the breeder offers them the pick of the rest of the litter or if they see it as a sign that the buyer should be rejected entirely.
A friend of mine has a Kneazle in her home in Hogsmeade, so I asked to visit on a Hogsmeade weekend. Hoping it would like me, I brought it some chicken from lunch. When I got to the house, it was sitting in the livingroom window, watching the walkway. As we entered, it jumped down and walked over to my friend, purring softly. I offered it some chicken, and it looked me over before taking it. Withing a few moments, it was letting me pet it as well. I guess I passed.
