Chapter 3
Once you've "found the groove" of Hogwarts, it's time to enroll in some classes. One tip I've heard, and given often is to only take ONE class at a time. I know some of us want to be a Hermione but we don't want you taking to much on. Start with one class at a time. The classes are not as easy as everyone expects, which is the reason for taking on one at a time. If you take all the classes at once I wouldn't be surprised if you went crazy from all the information and assignments! I personally started out by taking Charms (shout out to Professor Levintree) and thought it was a very bright move. Charms is a good class to start off with, and so is Herbology, and Astronomy.
I know most of you are probably most eager to take Defense Against the Dark Arts, and Transfiguration, but these are the more difficult classes even in year one. I personally know many people who took these first and were not prepared for the difficulty. If you still think you can do it, by all means. But take caution.
ENROLLMENT TIME: Go to the COURSES button at the top of the screen and click "course directory". It should then give you the list of all the classes required for year one. Click the class you want to enroll into and on the right side of the screen there will be "enroll in this class" in red. Click this and your set!
TAKE NOTES!!! If you do not take notes on your lesson's you will fail. I take physical notes in a notebook but I know plenty of people who also just take them electronically. It doesn't matter how you do it just TAKE NOTES. Make sure to always record dates and the names tied to them, but also things that you think may be on an assignment, test, or required for an essay.
If you want to drop a class you go to the class you want to drop. Then on the bottom right side there will be a tab that says "drop this class". When you drop a class it will not erase all the work/assignments/tests/etc that you have done. It will only drop it from your current schedual of classes. Whenever you want to start taking the class again you just enroll once more and you can start off right where you were.
