1. Familiar Dreams, Lore, And Willpower

Chapter 1

Millay's petite body lain sprawled out across her thin mattress, which was lined with things of all sorts. Amongst those things were books about mystical beings that she found on her father’s bookshelf. One of the books were titled, “Βαθύ Μέσα Τα Όντα του Μυστικισμ” but if the greek title was translated it would read, “Deep Within The Beings Of Mysticism”.

The Mysticism book was open onto the page of “The Lycanthrope.”, or otherwise known as the wolf man. But is most of often referred to as werewolves in the human world. The creature on the page had the figure of a wolf, yet it’s features were almost human. Although the creature stood erect, it’s posture reminded Millay of a feral animal.

Though the story that Millay was exceptionally captivated by and fascinated with was the Caucasus, an old Armenian lore. Now in between the pages of the lore, it explained there were women who had sinned some of the deadliest of sins, and in response a wolfskin-toting spirit ordered her to wear the hide of a wolf. The wolf skin forces the woman to turn into a  human-flesh-craving creature at night. The she wolf will have no choice to devour her children because she does not have the needed willpower that is able to fight off the cravings for human-flesh.

But soon after her own children she will go after her relative’s children in order of her relationship with them, and then finally random children at will. Some say it is not an option, for you can’t resist the urge for blood-shed, but others say there is an alternate way to control the transformations. The she-wolf walks around looking for her prey, then in the morning she transforms into a human and has to come to peace with herself for what she had done. Millay was fascinated with this theory, for it had even kept her up late for the last three nights.

Lycanthropy was beyond interesting and breathtaking to Millay for she was fascinated with it all. The general genre of “Werewolves” could keep Millay stuck inside her room for weeks if given the chance. She considered Lycanthropy history, as one would treat The Trail Of Tears or presidency, though she realizes how odd her fascination must seem to others.

Millay also has a soft spot for magic and the like. Once when Millay was only the ripe age of nine, she swore on her life she saw a pure snow-colored owl stalking her for at least a span of a week. Millay remembered she has often felt an odd sensation run through when she would happen to lock eyes with the feathery creature and she swore it was magical. Only a couple days before that week she had visited an aquarium and petting zoo with her school, and swore she heard a snake attempting to converse with her little girl self. Since that fateful day in the damp and blooming spring, she has made a mental vow to herself to study the magical element, but not the tricks and all of that get go. Little did she know, that the owl was sent by her very own mother to keep her safe and all the snake had wanted was out of the glass that inclosed it for far too long.

But for now Millay dreamt of a magical sight, which she thought was only familiar to her eyes.
