HERMIONE

I strolled into the potions classroom with Harry and Ron. Even on the way here, Ron didn't seem himself and he became even more moody when he saw Professor Slughorn in some ghastly green robes which looked at least 3 sizes too big. 

"Welcome! Welcome back class!" Slughorn exclaimed cheerily "Hope you all had a good summer break!" I smiled because now I could have lessons without fear of the future. Before, I was always afraid of the future. 

"Now. I want everyone to get their textbooks out and turn to page 77," Everyone immediately did so "Today, we are going to be making Amortentia. I expect you all to know this, but what is Amortentia?" 

About half the class rose their hands. 

"Yes, Miss Granger"

"Amortentia is the most powerful love potion in the world. Love Potions ostensibly cause the drinker to fall in love with the person who gave him or her the potion. However, true love cannot be produced through artificial means, and thus the feelings that Love Potions create are more like obsession than affection" I replied.

"Correct, Miss Granger"

Ron glanced at me which somehow made me glance at Draco. He looked more ready to learn then I have ever seen him.

"Love potions," Slughorn continued "are incredibly deadly should you get them wrong. That's why after we make the potions we will send them straight into the bin". Some of the class groaned. Slughorn seemed to ignore this. "OK, pip pip. Start!"

We all set off to different tables and started making the potions. I looked over at Draco: he had his head down reading intensely. Ron, on the other hand, was staring at his book with a blank look on his face.

"This doesn't make any sense" Ron said confused. Harry rolled his eyes and continued working.

About 10 minutes later, to my surprise Draco had already finished! 

"Well done Mr Malfoy," Slughorn said approvingly. He took a whiff of the potion "It is amazing!" Draco smiled at look at me. I winked back at him and we both chuckled. That was the first time I had actually seen him laugh properly.
