The next morning I sat on the end of the Slytherin table keeping my head low. I could feel that Pansy was staring at me and it felt awkward for about 2 minutes when I saw Hermione enter the Great Hall. She headed straight for the Gryffindor table, where Ron and Harry were sitting. She then saw me. She glanced over to the boys, walked to the Slytherin table and sat opposite me. I put my head down shyly, just peering at her from the top of my eye. She gave me a small smile and started to eat the egg and toast before her. I could see that Ron was staring at Hermione, with a disgusted look on his face. 

A couple of minutes later she said "First day of lessons today!" I nodded. I have never figured out how she enjoys essays so much. I smirked a little. We ate the rest of breakfast in silence. When I got up to leave she stood up suddenly.  

"It's been wonderful getting to know you" she said

I was a bit taken aback and didn't know what to say. "Err... you too" I smiled shyly.

I quickly ran out of the hall.
