DRACO
We sat in silence in the common room finishing our essays. Eventually Hermione broke the silence with a sigh as she finished her work. "Need help?" she asked. I leaned back in my chair "I thought you'd never ask" I half breathed half laughed. She took my parchment and wrote away. 5 minutes later, she was done. It was almost 21:30. "Don't worry, Sprout's too dumb to notice the difference in hand writing" she joked. I giggled. I went over to the sofa and sat next to her. She leaned her head on my shoulder. I felt a warm tingling running through my body. Just as she was about to say something the door swung open. It was Ron Weasley. He looked at me, then Hermione, then back at me: only this time more stern. "Hermione! What the fuck is this?" He shouted "I thought that..." I could tell he was lost for words.
"Ron listen" Hermione pleaded "Me and Draco. We're not-"
"Then what was that just then?" Ron replied, heartbroken.
"Ron," I interrupted "Hermione and I are ju-just friends. Okay? I would never um...get in between y-you two"
"Are you sure about that Malfoy? You bloody dim-witted millipede" Ron bellowed, getting more angry.
"Ron just stop! Please!" Hermione was crying now. Ron came for me. I dodged out the way, just in time.
"You know what Hermione?" he said "We are done! 100% over! You can be with Malfoy! I don't give a shit! You two could get married for all I care! Just never speak to me again!" With that, he stormed out of the room. Hermione ran to her room, tears flooding her face. I was left alone. I decided I needed to get out of this place. Leaving Hermione by herself, I rushed out of the common room and along the hallways.
2 minutes later, I appeared in the courtyard, exhausted. I was making my way across, when I heard a voice. It was singing, beautifully. I turned a corner and saw a young Slytherin girl sitting there, with all her bag, singing away a beautiful ballad. I watched her for a few seconds, before she caught sight of me. She immediatly stopped. I could see fear in her eyes: she thought I was going to tell her off for being out of bed after hours. However, I just approached her slowly.
"S-sorry, D-draco. I know I'm not meant to be out of bed and I should be in the dorms but-"
I cut her off "That was amazing singing" She looked suprised."You think?" She replied. I nodded.
"What's your name then?" I asked.
"It's er Skye"
"Nice name. I'm guessing your a first year" She nodded nervously. "You should get to bed before a profesor catches you"
"Yeah..." Skye said. Just before she left, she turned to me. "What's the matter?" She asked. I gave her a puzzeled look. "You have tear marks on your face" she pointed out. I hadn't even realised I had been crying.
"Oh. Er-er t-this? This is nothing. It's all good" I stuttered. I really didn't want to lose my pride, especially now infront of a first year.
Skye looked up and me. "You're a human being: its okay not to be okay. No person who has ever lived has always been happy.
I considered telling her everything. Just to get it all out but I decided against it. "No. I'm fine. Honestly"
"Fine?" She said. "Fine doesn't mean fine. The scale goes great, good, okay, not okay, I hate you and at the bottom, fine"
I leaned against the wall. "One day, you'll know...Skye" With that, I walked off.
