-School Quidditch Match - Ravenclaw vs. Hufflepuff-
This month’s School Quidditch match was certainly exciting, with the Ravenclaw team prancing around the pitch due to their last win and working very fast but the steady Hufflepuffs winning in the end with their sheer skill and brilliant teamwork. The weather conditions were excellent, cold but clear with a hint of sunshine, and the supporters of both teams decked out in brilliant colours. There were quite a few badger masks growling while the game was being played, and some screeches from similar eagle representations worn by Ravenclaws.
The game started off with a bang as Ravenclaw Beater Ian Fournie hammered a Bludger straight at one of the Hufflepuff Chasers, Lauren Granger. However, Granger bravely carried on playing after pausing her game and went on to play superbly despite a sore stomach. Yes, the three Hufflepuff Chasers played with brilliant teamwork and never missed a beat, Lauren Granger and Tania Marie being particularly fluent in movement and goal scoring, though third chaser Katie Rose was still excellent. The Ravenclaw Chasers would have been on the same level if it wasn’t or their rushed speed. Eager to put up a show and be swift about it, Camille Warren, Alexa Rae and Crystal Hope tried to play at an extremely fast speed but didn’t quite succeed.
The Ravenclaw Beaters, Ian Fournie and Ally Eagar, were on top form, however, and matched the talent of Hufflepuff Beaters Siobhan Scholman and David McGonagall perfectly, both pairs protecting their team and hitting a chaser of each team. Keeper for Ravenclaw Storm Brazendale with also on good form, guarding the goals well, but was no match for the brilliant Hufflepuff chasers. Hufflepuff Keeper Jenna Johnson was also strong and had incredible reflexes, deflecting most of the speedy scoring attempts from the Ravenclaw Chasers. And, after feigning dives several times over the course of ninety minutes, Seeker and Captain for Hufflepuff Karelin Lestrange raced for the snitch against Ravenclaw Captain and Seeker Ella Haley and ended the game by retrieving it. The end scores saw Hufflepuff clearly nabbing the victory 390-180 points.
